"Help," people cried on the street. "Help. Help!" They all ran across the streets, some were woman wih children. Other were grown men.

"My husband just died," a woman sobbed, telling Morgan. "The heatwave, it was something. Much different from recent ones. God knows why he has made me survived. But now I am a woman with no family."

"Sorry for your loss," Morgan said solemnly. "But more people have died. We're still counting."

"It was your invention," a man breathed. He gave a gleaming look. " Your invention made us live!"

"Pardon," Morgan said. He adjusted his tie. "What about my invention?"

"It helped absorb most of the heat from the heatwave, managing to make us survive," Justin said. He slapped Morgan across the back. "You're a genius!"

"R..r.. really?" Morgan stuttered. He grew a smile. "You're right, Justin. And so I have!" He began to laugh. "And all you fools didnt believe me! Now look at you!" Then, realizing his unruly behaviour, he apologized. "Oh, sorry. I'm just so happy that I proved all those people wrong. Too bad most haven't seen me say it."

"Morgan!"

Morgan turned around. "Oh, Jared," he laughed. "How are you? Glad to see you're alive."

Jared skidded to a stop. So did Georgia.

"Oh, hello Georiga my dear," Justin smirked.

Georgia gave him a death stare, he grew quiet. Then she said, all in one breath. "Have you heard? There's so many dead bodies in the city, if not, the whole world."

"I can imagine them all dead. The globe, I mean. Proves them right not to install my invention." Morgan nudged Justin, still smiling.

"What about your invention," Georgia huffed. "That thing corrupted most of the city. Do you know how much it even cost to build that shit? A fortune."

"Georgia," said Jared, giving her a serious look. Then he turned to Morgan. "What do you mean about them dying, that they should have installed your invention. Are you implying that the invention is the very reason we're here?"

"Yeah," said Morgan. "My heat absorption device sucks up heat to fasten the process of the f-"

"We know," Georgia snapped. "God, Morgan. Just tell, us why we're still alive."

"It absorbed the heat from the wave, at least 60% of it."

"Then why have some people died?" Georgia asked.

"Why would I know," Morgan said, falling his arms. "Maybe it's because we're strong, smart-"

"And pretty," Justin said, sneaking a glare from Georgia.

"What I'm trying to imply here, Georgia," Morgan breathed. "Is that I don't know every damn thing!"

"I wasn't thinking you would," she muttered.

"Nevermind that," Jared said. "Have you counted all the bodies? We're in the middle of just that. Remind me the population of the city?"

"7 000," Justin said. "About that. Remarkably low." He nodded to Morgan.

"How many have you guys counted?" Morgan asked. "The dead bodies, I mean."

"A rough 1 270," Georgia said, looking down.

"God," Justin breathed. "Did you really count that much?"

"We're heading to the school, West Regal Heights," Jared said. "We're gonna see if there are any more dead bodies. Lord, imagine that. Dead children bodies. I can't bear that." He gave a nod to Georigia and they headed to that direction.
