"I'm scared," Amy said, getting up from her covers. She had healed from most of her wounds, but she still felt tired. She had heard the bird's terrifying cries as she tried to sleep for the night. It didn't help that it kept coming, headbutting the dome.

"Same here," Jacob admitted. He didn't like telling his feelings, for he thought it would make him a weakling, but with Amy.. he felt safer.

Amy slowly got up from the bed, and moved to the window, watching the cloudless sky, dark, with the moon shining bright with its lustre. "What do you think it wants?" She turned around, looking to Jacob.

"What else? If I'm gonna be real, it's probably wanting us for food," Jacob said, joining her along the window. They both looked out, each feeling worried and scared.

They liked he dome, they felt safe. If this bird came out of nowhere - and not just a bird, a blazing one! - what else would it be looking for? It was trying to damage the dome violently, and all the citizens of what was left of the city, was mortified.

Morgan looked out, examining the bird, from the outdoors. He looked up, and saw the bird, cawing ferciously, and clawing the dome.

Rick joined him, and let out a puff of smoke from his cigar.

They had never seen such a species. How had it evolved and made existence into their world? Why was it here? Likely for Morgan, he liked these questions, these wonders. It strengthened him.

"I don't think the dome will hold long," Rick said, with the cigarette still between his lips.

"It will. It's made of fine stuff," Morgan told him. He quickly went back in the house, for he was still tired.

"When will you stop hoping?" Rick asked him, taking the cigarette out of his mouth and throwing it on the floor, stamping it.

"When will you stop pestering me?" Morgan replied back. He told Rick to go home, and that they would resolve things and matters later. He was tired if everything, if how people doubted his inventions and such.

He wiped his sleepy eyes, as he opened his bedroom door. He slid into his bed, and pulled on the covers. He closed his heavy eyes, but his sleep was disturbed by the bird. He took some earplugs from his drawer, and put it in his ears.

"That's something," a voice murmured, as more voices joined in. People were chattering about the bird that had mysteriously appeared in the few days. It was the only thing people were talking about.

People were amazed by this bird, but some were terrified. "What will happen to us!" someone yelled from the crowds, there was a hint of worry in their voice.

Jared, who had arranged this meeting, looked to Morgan, with an equal sense of worry. He didn't know why thos bird mysteriously appeared, and why it appeared to cause harm to the dome and its inhabitants. He nodded to Morgan, for him to lead the meeting.

"As we all know, the bird has been.. quite some news."

Everybody hushed.

Amy and Jacob were watching from the hospital, through one of the windows.

Jacob urged Amy to try to get out of bed, for he really wanted to check out the meeting. Amy was reluctant, but when she saw the brightness in his eyes, in his face, she took her soul and ignored what it wanted. She got up from bed warily, and stumbled on the floor.

She didn't often walk on the floor much anymore, for she always stayed in bed. So walking on the floor after a few days, or hours, felt like it was a new power being learnt. It felt unusual.
