Amy's world had changed so much for the few months. There was once a day, she remember it exactly, it was August 25th, when the water supply had been shortened. The machine that purified the water had been miraculously stopped, and for that day, no clean water came out of the taps.
People out of thirst, began drinking the unclean water, some just died of dehydration. As a result lots of people died, according to Morgan, he estimated 38 people, a large amount out of a 200 group.
Also during that time, the food had gotten scarce. Helen refused to hunt in the Second World anymore, not because if fear, but rather becuase she wanted to see the people in the dome suffer. They had told her, spitefully, that she should stop hunting when she herself was a great hunter.
And so she did exactly that. She did hunt sometimes though, riding on Galloway's back, catching some mooses with Morgan's machine that she had stolen in his lab. But instead of sharing it with the people, she kept it hidden in her house, making her own dish to feed herself. She also had a clean supply of water banked in a large water container, and so she drank from this.
Amber noticed Helen's whereabouts, so she did nothing. Amy had told her a few days ago, the misfortune that had struck the dome. She told her if Amber he seen Helen, and if so, to let her go. "She's probably hunting to get us some food. Our food is scarce," Amy said dryly.
Amber had offered her some water from the Second World. The water there was quite different from that of the dome. But Amber assured her it was just fine. Yes it was filled with an acid, but it was a good one, and it would do her no harm. "You can try it now if you'd like," she told her.
Amy reluctantly took a sip, and satisfied that she hadn't died yet, said if she could have more. Pleased, Amber gave her talons and gallons of water, and tokd her to feed her people. "We are leaders to our kinds," Amber told her, giving her the last gallon, "and we need to act accordingly."
Amy agreed. That day, the thirsty people were hesitant to drink the water. They examined, and some refused, saying they would rather die. The others that wanted to take their chances, took the water and drank, taking large gulps of it. They then licked their mouths, taking in the bitter acid, but they were pleased of how they hadn't been killed yet.
By people were suspicious. Someone asked Amy where she had gotten the water, and she immediately said she had gotten it from the Second World as an offering. The people were shocked, but some just laughed it off. Who would offer her this water, anyway? It was possible she was just looking for some water around the city, and found it.
During that day, where the people had died, the project was alittle delayed. It was only weeks later that things went back to normal and they then resumed building. Morgan had created some me machines that could help boost the building, and he offered it to the crews. Amy watched as they built, and she saw a shadow cast over her.
She looked up, and saw Amber, watching them. She looked upset. Ever since they had begun to build the spaceship, she grew into despair. Amy quickly 3xcused herself, went into the Second World. "Amber," she cried out.
The bird quickly heard her call, and immediately went to her aid. Her face brightened. "Amy, how are you?"
"Well, you?"
She nodded. "My chick had been screaming to see you. I hope you know she loves you very much. Sometimes I wonder if she loves you more than me."
Amy touched the necklace Amber had given to her days ago. She decided to let her keep it, she knew she was a responsible person, and that she wasn't a reckless being. Amy replied, "Haven't you thought of a name yet?"
