Georgia sneered when she saw Helen. They were old friends back in high school. During her junior year, Georgia realized, from the latest gossip, that Helen had started dating Jared. Her crush. And how else, better yet, why else would she have had dated him? To get on her nerves. She loved doing that.
"Hey, Georgia," she smiled. She gave a nod. "Surprising you ended up here. You don't seem so fitting for this job. No offence." She gave a sly smirk and laughed.
Georgia looked around. The kids were all gawking. She shook her head. "Helen, can I speak to you for a moment? In private?" She grabbed her by the arm and opened the door. She rushed out of the room. They were in the hallways. The lights had been turned off. She flicked them on, but the lights were dim.
"What the fuck do you want?" Helen snared. She growled, almost.
"To know why you're here," Georgia said. She sneered, "What are you doing here?"
She smirked. "Heard you and Jared were looking for some souls. What a kirac,e that I was alive, huh?"
Georgia shook her head. "More like a sin. Please leave. We're not recruiting hoes." She said this so calmly. She glared at Helen though. "Lets be real why you dated Jared, so y-"
"Oh please!" said Helen unamused. "You're still thinking about him? Oh God, Georgia. Why can't we get over that past? Let's be friends again, close ones, like we used to." She crossed her fingers.
"You hurt me, Helen. And I can't forgive you for that," she said glumly. "Whatever. Stay here. But if you hurt anyone I care about, or even me, your better dead. Understand?" She was pushing her against the wall. "Repeat it. Say 'I won't hurt Georgia's friends, or Georgia herself'. Say it!"
Immediately Georgia flew back.
"You really don't get this shit, don't you?" she snarled. Helen rose up. "I'm much more powerful than you. I could break you easily like a twig. You hear?" She was practically screaming. "Don't be a bitch, Georgia."
"Is everything okay?" a voice asked.
They both turned.
Helen stumbled. "Ja.. J.. Jared!" She went to him, hugging him. "That witch, nurse. She was threatening me."
Georgia refused.
"Doesn't sound like what she would do. Do you even recognize her? It's Georgia. Your old friend," he smiled.
"As if. She was never my friend," she hissed. "Jared, you gotta help me."
"There's other people you need to help," said Georgia. "She's only gonna hold you back. Jared, come." Georgia held his arm, firm in grip. She rushed to the room. "Listen, J. I don't want you near that bitch." She whispered.
"I'll try. But you know I can't. She's my ex." He looked to the door. "But I will try, Georgia."
She held his hand tight. "You realize we're the only people in this world who can help all these injured people? We need to start cracking." She gave a nervous smile, and let go of the grip. She went to go nurse the baby, which was a newborn. She had named her Felicia.
Amy and Jacob had grown relentless. They kept asking how the or parents, were doing. Were they dead? They demanded to know, to put search crews forth to find them. To find everyone. They couldn't risk more deaths.
Jared had given out a sigh. He was a a failed doctor. How many times has he seen people die before him, yet not doing anything? Frustrated by all the commotion, he yelled everyone to shut up. He told them, pointing his fingers at Amy and Jacob, that they had done all they could. But their parents were dead. He wringed his hands, and cover his face with his palms. He let a frustrated roar. He didn't know what to do anymore.
