"You're not feeling anything?" Jacob asked, he was surprised. The most extreme he would have thought, was that Amy blew up into flames.
"Yeah," she said, opening her fist, showing the glowing rock.
It wouldn't be right to say it was a glowing rock. It was a rock, but with a very strong glowing thing in the centre of its core. This glowing thing was very strong however, and raidiated a lot of light.
She quickly closed her fist. "I told you," she smirked. She got up, and put the rock in her pocket. She thought it looked nice and sweet. She could keep it in her pocket, Maybe it could be her lucky charm. She liked the thought of that. With everything that had happened to her so far, luck was mostly needed.
"Whatever," Jacob said, turning around. "If you weren't so lucky, you would have ended up dead. I was just looking out for you."
"You always look out for me," she smiled.
He didn't say anything.
"You're like my big brother," she said, still smiling. "Thanks."
He still didn't say anything.
Amy went back to her rock, and smiled. She changed the subject, and asked, "What if we discovered something big? Like those big scientists?"
"Isn't that good for us," Jacob said sarcastically. He wasn't buying the idea that this rock was something so special. To him, it looked like, felt like, a prank. He didn't want to tell Amy though, he knew how much she liked the rock. He could feel it.
Amy, not noticing his sarcasm, replied, "Isn't it?" She took it her rock from her sweater's pocket, and felt it. It felt rough, but she could feel the energy in it. The power. She knew it was special.
The next few weeks, the engineers had been real close to finishing the dome.
"We're almost done, boss," Cole reported. "We already got a majority of the dome done. It's circling around the city, so it's like a wall. We just need the top finished. And we also got to get Morgan's ideas in, the vents and doors."
"Good," Noor smiled. She was inspecting the glass, and tapping it with her fingers. "You tell the rest to keep doing what they're doing. Tell them I'm proud of them."
"Will do." Cole turned to leave and left Noor alone.
She was still examining the dome. She took a breath, and closed her eyes. The dome was still unfinished, so the wind form the top came down and blew her hijab. What would happen once the dome was fully finished? Would the wind come down and greet her like it was doing right now.
She opened her eyes and sighed.
Probably never.
She turned around and went to see Morgan.
When she saw him at one of the park benches, chewing on a piece if bread, she waved. He didn't see, so she came near him. "Hello, Morgan," she greeted.
Morgan looked up, "Oh, hello Noor. What have you come to tell me about?"
Noor told him, "Don't know if you know, but the dome is half finished."
"Yes, I know." He took another bite of his bread, and asked, "And so what about it? You want me to say a thank you?"
She shrugged, "Sure. But, I just need to know your proposal and all that." She pointed at the blueprints he was studying very closely. "You know, the doors and vents? Tell me how you plan on making that a reality."
Morgan smiled. "It's simple.."
"That was something," Harry inquired, as he saw the explosion. "Something so powerful. Did you see that Rick?" He turned to Rick, with a curious look on his face.
