Jared had recruited and rescued more children. Georgia had taken them in, to nourish them in the hospital.
Jared had also recruited some people, to help with the unsettling event.
A news reporter, 5 engineers (including Noor), 3 doctors, 7 scientists, a teacher. He was still recruiting, shocked by finding multiple people alive. He was confused. But this was a confusing Era.
"New kids have arrived!" Georgia smiled. She pushed the new kids in, Levi, Mia, Julie and Carter.
Amy gave a dirty look to Carter. She didn't like him, he was her recent ex. Out of all the people she wanted dead, it would have been him.
He gave her a loving smile. "Amy," he called. He reached out for her hand.
Amy disgusted, stepped back. She turned to Jacob, whom she liked wayy better than the dick, Carter. "This asshole scares me," she told Jacob. Jacob nodded, gave a stern look to Carter, he shut up.
Jacob had always been the greatest friend to Amy. They met in seventh grade, he was nice and funny and whatnot. But in Amy's eyes, he remained to her as just a friend. Tori and Ali were her true friends however.
Speaking of Tori and Ali, this triggered Amy's curiosity. "Nurse, have you seen Tori and Ali? Are they dead?" She was hoping this wasn't true. It should not be.
Georgia thought, asked her what room they were both in.
"203 and 110," Amy said.
"No, I'm afraid they're gone. Jared checked those rooms, not one a live soul was reported," she said. She gave a concerning look and asked Amy if they were her friends, or siblings. If they had any close relationship.
Jacob butted in "They were all real good friends." He turned to look to Amy, giving her a sympathetic smile. He whispered in her ear, "I'm sorry."
She nodded and bit her lip. She repressed her sadness. Tori and Ali had meant so much to her. Theybseemed more than friends, they were family. Her sisters. Her own sister probably was great, but she died in a car accident when she was young.
She traced her thoughts.
"You're unbelievable, Tori, you know that?" Amy said as she gave Tori a gentle shove. "Why the hell did you even keep that a secret?"
Ali nodded, as she held tight to her pillow. They were having a sleepover, at Tori's house. "You know you can keep a secret like that with us. We're like sisters."
"I know," Tori said, smiling. "But it's not like my own sister cares. She literally wanted to kick my ass just for telling her. That bitch even tried to threaten me." Tori shook her head, but her eyes bore pain, worrieness. She was scared to get kicked out of the house, she couldn't afford such a mistake.
"You mean Judy was gonna kick your ass cause your lesbian?" Ali had said. She looked serious. "Why? Is she homophobic?"
"Whatever. It's not even that, well sorta. But she's a literal saint. She's hella religious." She looked down and gritted her teeth. "It sucks so bad. I mean, why can't I love her? What's the fucking sin?" She was really upset.
Amy and Ali exchanged looks and came and hugged her. Tight.
"We don't care who the fuck you are," Amy said. "You're our sister. And will always be."
Now they were gone. Her sisters. Only sisters. She lost hope that her family would remain the same. That they were alive. But that seemed too good to be true.
