3rd Person POV
Jason was sleeping soundly when it was interrupted by the loud ring of his phone.

Felling groggy, he woke up and pressed the call button, not bothering to look at the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Jase I'm scared" a voice whispered from the other side.

"Avery baby is that you?"

"Y-yes Jase I need you...please come to my house" the voice continued to whisper.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?"

Mumbles were all that were heard from the other side.

All of the blood in Jason's face suddenly drained and his mouth gaped open.

"I'm coming, just hold on baby I'm coming, just stay where you are" he demanded, putting on sweats and grabbing his keys while the phone was hung up from the other side. He now very awake for it being four in the morning.

"Shit! Baby? Please" he pleaded into the black screen.

Starting up his car, he sped down the road in a panic, rushing to her apartment in a matter of minutes.

Climbing the levels and finding her door, he burst into the apartment, keys still stuck in the door.

"Avery??" He yelled, scanning the room for her.

"I-In here" a voice croaked out from the kitchen.

Turning the lights on, he looked on to the small figure on the ground with shattered glass around her.

"Oh baby, are you hurt at all?" He asked softly, not wanting to scare the already panicked girl.

"Jase" she sobbed, uncurling herself and reaching for him.

He luckily still had his boots on and stepped over the glass to her. Picking her up by the waist, he held her on his hip and walked to the bathroom, whispering sweet nothings in her ear.

Tears were still streaming down her face when he set her down on the counter.

"I need you to tell me if anything hurts" he told her gently, scanning for injuries on her.

She meekly nodded her head and held her bloody hands out to him.

"It h-hurts" she gasped, continuing to cry.

He looked down to see the multiple cuts and glass stuck in her hands, most likely from trying to pick up the glass.

"Oh sweetie I know, I do need to take it out though, I'll be quick I just need you to stay still for me" he told her, looking to her for confirmation.

She nodded again, trusting him, knowing he dealt with this type of stuff every day at work. He was a paramedic for a fire station and he was really good in bad situations.

"Okay babe, just stay still, it shouldn't hurt, tell me if it does"

He picked up some tweezers and started pulling out the glass from her tiny hands. But as soon as he did, she started whimpering and crying again.

He paused, "does it hurt or are you scared?"

"S-Scared" she whispered.

"Babygirl you have nothing to be scared of, he isn't here right now, I am. Nothing will hurt you when I'm here. But I really need this glass out of your hands before it gets infected" he sympathized.

A nod came from the small girl before he continued to work on her hands, the occasional whimper making him pause and give her a minute.

"There! All done!" He praised, taking care of all of the supplies and glass.

Pulling her into his arms, he asked her the dreaded question.

"What happened?

Taking a deep breath, she prepared herself to answer.

"I w-woke up from a n-nightmare about h-him and I went to get a
g-glass of water. I g-guess I was
sh-shaking too much and I
d-dropped the glass on the
g-ground. The s-sound made me go into a fl-flashback and I was having a p-panic attack when I called you" she was trembling and sobbing hard at the end of it, remembering all of the memories.

He held her tightly and allowed her to let it all out, comforting her by just being there.

"I'm so sorry babygirl. I wish I was here with you, I could have prevented it." He admitted regretfully.

The only reason he wasn't was because he had done a late shift in the ambulance and had gotten home late, and he didn't want to wake her up by going to her house.

"But he cant hurt you now, I'm here and I'm staying. But I'm sure you are exhausted from all of this so we should go back to bed." He said, letting out a yawn.

Giving a small nod, Avery held on to him tighter, letting him know she needed him.

He understood and picked her up again, carrying her to her bedroom and laying down with her, covering them both up with blankets.

"Goodnight babygirl, I love you" he whispered, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer to him.

"I love you too" she whispered back, snuggling into his chest.

Awwwwww
Guys
So
You may be wondering why I'm writing this. Well... I just broke up with my boyfriend so I kinda need to reminisce a little and cry and let it out so that is why this is a very sappy chapter. I still included a medical aspect tho!
Okay so I'm also being slow at updating because I'm in the middle of writing my new book which will be released soon!!
Anyways,
Vote, comment, share!
Thanks, K❤️❤️❤️❤️
