I glanced down at my phone. It was 6:27. Below the time was a text from my mom:
"Hey sweetie, haven't heard from you in a couple days. Just checking to make sure you're alright. I know you are at the concert tonight. Have fun. Tell Josh and Tyler I said hello. If you have time later, give me a call. Love you."
I swiped to reply, when Julia pointed across the ways. Putting my phone away, I looked to see Josh and Tyler setting up on stage. The sight of them, made my heart race. I missed them so much. Josh's hair was pink now and longer on the top than the sides. He even had some light stubble. He wore a tight white tank top and bleached jeans. His right arm had been stained with a tattoo sleeve. He had gauged piercings in both ears, and a ring through his nose. The one thing that looked the same as I remembered were his eyes. His dark brown eyes looked to his right, as he whispered something to Tyler.
I turned my eyes to Tyler. He was wearing a black hoodie and black skinny jeans. His hair was spiked up in the middle, kind of like a subtle mohawk. At least it wasn't pink. He smiled back at Josh. Oh, how I missed his smile. We had the best of times when we were growing up. I'd never laughed harder, than with those boys.
We were finally getting closer. And then it was our turn. A man ripped off a section of our tickets. Tyler and Josh had left the stage to go into their "meet and greet" area a while ago. Julia had met them a few times before when she came over to my house, but didn't know them to the extent that I did, of course. She was a big fan of their music.
"JESS?!?" Tyler exclaimed, and a huge, adorable smile lit up his face. Josh's jaw just hung open.
"Ahh Ty! Josh!" I squealed. I was literally so happy. They both wrapped their tattooed arms around me and we all squeezed each other so tightly.
"What are you doing here? I mean... it's amazing to see you, gosh Jess, you look great! It's been years!" Josh said.
"Thanks, you too," I laughed, "I'm liking the pink hair."
He chuckled.
"Julia, is it?" Tyler asked.
She replied, "Yep, that's me. I'm a huge fan of your music."
We all chatted for a little while. I felt bad for Alex and all of the people behind us, but I didn't want to leave. It just felt so good to be reunited Tyler and Josh. They used to be a part of my everyday life, and I'd missed them so much. Josh was finally the one to point out that there were so many people and only so much time before the show.
"We should meet up sometime again soon Jess, are you staying in the area?" asked Tyler.
"Julia and I go to Penn State now! The campus is just..."
Josh interrupted me, "That's perfect! After tonight we have a few weeks off from the tour. We're staying at a hotel pretty close to the campus actually."
Tyler said that he would call me tomorrow to make plans. We checked to make sure he had the right phone number, and he did. Before leaving, we took a few pictures with them. We hugged one last time, and left to find Alex in the roaring crowd.
