Chapter Ten: A New Deal

Anima-(Y/N) Pov

When I had woken up I set off immediately for Anima so I could earn my break sooner. With me I had brought Salem with me on a leash, to show proof to Raven. I see the entrance of the camp and the bandits guarding it open the gate for me when they see me. As I enter the camp I see all the bandits gather and all start whispering to each other. When I see Raven and her little loyalist approach I smile when I see Raven's shocked expression.
Raven: "You...you actually did it..."
(Y/N): "Yes, I did. Now I'll take that gem."
I hold out my hand as Raven takes out the gem. She looks at it, then at Salem then back to me and places it in my hand. As soon as I get the gem I take my sword out and slash at Raven's leg. It hits true and she falls to the ground before me...however no one else move, besides the loyalist who stands in front of Raven.
Loyalist: "What do you think your doing!"
The loyalist prepares to attack but Raven grabs her arm.
Raven: "Vernal, stand down..."
(Y/N): "Ah, so the little loyalist does have a name!"
Vernal growls at me but moves out of the way regardless. Raven looks up at me with anger.
Raven: "I thought we had a deal..."
(Y/N): "We did have a deal. If I took down Salem you would give me the gem."
Raven: "But what about leaving my tribe and my daughter alone!"
(Y/N): "That was part of the other deal I tried to make and you said no. Are you saying you want to make another deal?"
Raven grumbles yet nods her head. I smile an lay out the terms of the new deal.
(Y/N): "Your tribe works for me now. And as long as you show loyalty to me I won't kill your daughter or anyone in your tribe. However that doesn't mean I can't torture your daughter. Also you must do whatever I say and you must come to my castle. Someone will take on the responsibility of overseeing the tribe while your gone. Do we have a deal?"
Raven looks at the ground, then looks at her tribe, who don't know what to do in this circumstance. She then looks back at me.
Raven: "We have a deal..."
I smile and help her off the ground. I look to Vernal.
(Y/N): "Congratulations little loyalist! You get a promotion."
Vernal looks at me in contempt but doesn't do anything. A portal opens up and I take Raven and Salem through it.

Wilfre's Castle-Dungeon

In the dungeon, I place both Raven and Salem in the same cell. As I leave I turn my head to face them.
(Y/N): "I hope you both enjoy this bonding experience."
I leave and make my way to the throne to give Wilfre the gem I collected. On my way to the throne room Cinder starts following me.
Cinder: "How did it go with Raven?"
(Y/N): "We have more people on our side now."
Cinder: "I don't understand, why not just kill them all?"
(Y/N): "Because I need Raven for my personal project. I want to completely demoralize the major teams at Beacon and the way to do this is to take away and defile the things they cared about."
Cinder: "...Its things like this that make me glad I joined your side without a fight."
I chuckle a bit and Cinder takes her leave. I arrive the doors to the throne room and I enter. Wilfre sits on his throne, looking pleased. I walk over and give him the gem, he takes it and merges it with the rest.
Wilfre: "We still have more gems to collect but for now this will do. Now do yourself a favor and take a break for once!"
I nod and make my way to my room but when I see Emerald I walk over to her and grab her shoulders. Emerald lets out a quiet "eep" and looks at me with fear.
(Y/N): "What made you think it was alright to sneak into my room and remove my mask?"
Emerald: "I-I-I wanted to see your face! I...was just curious okay!"
I stare her down and she practically shrinks down. I release her and continue to my room. However I'm stopped and Emerald turns me around and lifts my mask up and give me a kiss on the lips, I don't know what to do so I just return the kiss. It lasts for a brief moment before we part...Emerald looks stunned. I straighten my mask and drag Emerald to my room. I enter my room and neither Ruby or Neo are inside, I do find a note about an ice cream/cookie run. I set Emerald in a chair ad I sit on the bed.
(Y/N): "Explain yourself."
Emerald: "Well...you see we've met before."
(Y/N): "Yes, at Beacon."
Emerald: "No we've met before that. We both lived on the streets. You helped me before, remember."
I ponder this for a while and it comes back to me. Brief flashes of my past, I shake my head and look to Emerald.
(Y/N): "Your right...we did meet on the streets and I did help you..."
Emerald: "Yeah, we agreed to help each other. But you disappeared, what happened?"
I stay silent, Emerald rolls her eyes at this and she gets up and pushes me onto the bed. She climbs on top of me and settles down.
Emerald: "When I found out it was you I was jealous of Ruby and Neo. Now its my turn."
She then falls asleep. I decide that this would be the opportune moment to take a nap to recover the sleep I lost in waking up early. I close my eyes thinking of my past...and that's exactly what I dream about.
