Chapter Twelve: Confrontation

3rd Pov

Raven sat in her new cell. It was an upgrade, as it was more like an academy dorm room...with barred windows and a cell door. Raven was just laying on the bed trying to figure out why her semblance or maiden power weren't working. Then she hears the door open and someone walk in. She looks up to see Salem, (Y/N), walk inside and sit the chair near the desk. He looks at Raven for a bit before Raven starts to get angry.
Raven: "What do you want..."
(Y/N): "I just want to talk and make sure you are comfortable here."
Raven: "So you care about my well being after you destroy my life."
(Y/N): "What more do you want? Your tribe is still alive, I haven't done anything to your daughter yet, even though she deserves it, and I haven't razed Beacon to the ground."
Raven: "Why do you hate my daughter so much?"
(Y/N) falls silent at that question and Raven realizes it and decides to press more.
Raven: "If you tell me why you hate my daughter and Beacon, I promise I'll be more cooperative with whatever you tell me to do."
(Y/N) stands up and walks over to one of the windows. He stays silent for a bit...Raven prepares to speak again before being cut off.
(Y/N): "I went to Beacon with your daughter...however she lives the good life at Beacon while I was the hated scapegoat. Your daughter and her friends made my life at Beacon a living hell."
Raven falls silent and looks at (Y/N)...he still looks out the window and continues on.
(Y/N): "Few people cared for me at Beacon and it wasn't any of the staff. When I had to spare with Yang she showed no mercy and utterly beat me. When the fight was supposed to be over she attacked me and broke my arm and cracked a rib or two. Glynda was watching the whole time but Yang didn't get into any trouble and when I tried in vain to report the issue to Ozpin he berated me for lying. My own team didn't even like me...which is why I want to see Beacon burn and watch as all the people who have wronged me grovel at my feet, begging for mercy."
Raven was stunned, not only at what her daughter had done but also what Beacon had done to the boy. Then she realized something.
Raven: "So what your saying is...your a 17 year old kid who has somehow managed to defeat a maiden and one of the most powerful beings in existence and her minions?"
(Y/N): "When you live on the streets as a kid you learn how to outwit your opponent instead of fighting them head on. I learned how to turn people against each other or make them expect one thing only to experience another. Or, in Salem's case, I made her underestimate how much of a threat I was to her in that moment."
(Y/N) walked over to the bed Raven was on and sat down on the opposite side. Raven just looked at the boy for a while before moving over to him. She cupped (Y/N)'s face and turned his head to face her own. She reached up and removed the mask and saw the boy's face, it was the face of a teenaged boy...but the dull (e/c) eyes showed pain. Raven pulled the boy onto her and laid down. Raven let him rest on her chest as she combed her fingers through his hair.
Raven: "You never had a mother, did you?"
(Y/N): "...No, I was left abandoned on the street when I was five."
Raven: "Well, I can't be your mother but when you need someone to soothe your pain, come to me."
They stayed like this for awhile, for (Y/N) it was peaceful...for the first he felt completely safe and that nothing bad would happen to him. Actually...he had felt this before...whenever Neo, Ruby or Emerald slept in his bed with him, he felt that he could finally be safe. Why was he feeling this way...he looked at the clock in the room and noticed that an hour had gone by already.
(Y/N): "As relaxing as this is Raven, I...unfortunately have business to attend to."
Raven sighs and releases (Y/N) and he grabs his mask and puts it back on. He starts to walk out of the room but...
Raven: "Whats your real name. Cause I doubt that your name is Salem."
(Y/N) stops for a second then turns to face Raven.
(Y/N): "One day you'll learn my name...I don't want you telling anyone."
(Y/N) then leaves the cell and closes the door. Raven sighs and lays back down on the bed, feeling lonely already. Then she starts thinking back to what (Y/N) said about Ozpin.
Raven: "Ozpin allowed all of that to happen to one of his students...was it because he was playing favorites..."
Cinder: "It was definitely because he played favorites."
Raven sat up to see Cinder leaning in the doorway. Raven laughed a little.
Raven: "So he even got you to join his cause."
Cinder: "Yeah, how else do you think he got to Salem? Anyway I eves dropped on your conversation with him and I know who he is now."
Raven's face then turned into a serious one.
Raven: "You know who he is!?"
Cinder: "Yeah, he was at Beacon when I was undercover. My team was one of his only friends besides one other team. Mercury and him were close."
Raven: "Tell me everything that he went through at Beacon."
Cinder: "I can only tell you what I was able to witness. Because that story with Yang happened before I was at Beacon."
Cinder starts tell Raven of all the things that happened to (Y/N) while she was at Beacon.

Vale-(Y/N)'s Pov

A walk always helps me think through my decisions and my problems. Why am I feeling like I was before...I've never needed anyone. But my memories with Emerald...how could I forget that...and the fact I was kidnapped. Why can't I remember any of that. Ah well none of it must've been important to remember. I prepare to make my way to Junior's bar but...
???: "Leave me alone Cardin!"
That name makes me stop in my tracks, I look over to alleyway. I make my way over to the alley and peer down the alleyway. I see team CRDL having Velvet cornered in the alley, this is the perfect chance to...remove them as players from the board. I sneak up behind Dove and Sky and stab them with my sword and dagger. Cardin and Russel don't notice as their still preparing to do something to Velvet. I walk over to Russel and stab him through the back of his head. This gets Cardin's attention as well as Velvet's.  Cardin charges at me with his mace and I evade his swing and nick his leg with my sword.  He staggers and swings again and catches my face. I counter attack and stab him in the chest with my sword and finish him off by stabbing my dagger into his throat and split his throat open. As Cardin falls to the ground I look to Velvet...who looks at me with shocked expression.
Velvet: "(Y/N)?"
I immediately touch the spot that Cardin had hit and feel that the attack had cracked my mask exposing more of my face allowing someone who had seen me before without my mask. I look at Velvet and walk over to her and pull out a special powder that would help with the situation. I grab onto Velvet and blow the powder into Velvet's face, she immediately fell unconscious. I draw up a new mask and destroy the old one. I pick up Velvet and put her onto my shoulder. I sigh to myself and make my way back to the castle thinking to myself that at least I have gotten revenge on CRDL.
(Y/N): "This might cause some problems..."

Side note: I realized that I've been spelling Cardin and CRDL wrong in the previous chapters...sorry about that. But at least I don't have to worry about that anymore.
