Chapter 8 - Road to Ego Pt.2

End of Chapter 7 -

You and Carol stand near the back of the room, out of the way of the Guardians.

"So, me and Carol had a chat, and we are going to leave you all when we get to Ego." You say.

"I am Groot. (Y/N you can't leave me!)"

"Rocket, what did he say?" You enquire.

"He said you aren't allowed to leave him, which I 3000% agree with. These idiots don't understand me when I talk some sense into them." Rocket answers, while rolling his eyes.

"Oh Groot, I'm not leaving fully. I'm sure we'll be back at some point." You reason, and Groot frowns and then smiles after realising what you said.

"Well, we will have 3 days until we reach Ego, so what should we do up to then?" You ask.

"Ooh! Another round of truth or dare!" Quill shouts excitedly.

"No, Quill. We done that a couple of days ago. That game is so overrated." Carol responds.

"Y/N, can you tell Carol that she's no fun AND this is my ship. My ship, my rules."

"No Quill, she's right. Truth or dare is a game for 12 year olds who think they can get away with anything by playing it." You roll your eyes.

"Y/N, you're no fun either! Okay, how about we play a sick-ass game of would you rather? I prefer that game anyway."

"Alright then Quill. Would you rather shut up on your own or have me shut you up?" Carol asks, with a serious look on her face. She really did not want to play a game.

"Carol, woah. That's a bit rude! But, uhh I'll shut up before you make me." Quill answers, moving on to the next question, without taking on board what Carol had just said. "Y/N, would you rath-- HEY! Why did you pinch me, Gamora?"

Gamora smiles at you and Carol, leaving without saying another word. Quill follows, desperate to know why Gamora pinched him, leaving you and Carol alone.

Just as you were about to ask Carol where you were both going first, Rocket bursts into the room demanding tape for his new gun-invention-thing. You quickly show him to where the tape could possibly be, then rush back to Carol before you forget what you're going to ask her. On the way back to the room Carol was in, you tripped over one of Groot's vines he left lying around. Clumsy, Y/N. Also, Groot please pick up after yourself!

"Carol, I'm back! Where are we going first?"

"Umm, you know I haven't really thought about that. Where do you want to go?" She asks.

"I've heard good things about The Garden? Apparently it's really nice."

"Y/N, you know I don't do 'nice'."

"Shit, yeah. Ummm, Jotenheim?" You suggest.

"NO! That's where the Frost Giants are! I heard that the price of Asgard, Loki, who is a Jotun himself, and conspired against the Allfather, Odin, in order to take the throne from him. Plus, it's super cold there."

"Duckworld?"

"Now you're just being silly. I met Howard the Duck in a bar and trust me, he's not the type of guy you'd want to visit."

"Gallifrey? I saw it on the Nova Corps database a while ago. The Time Lords are there and I'd love to meet some of them, especially the Doctor. I've heard they're amazing at saving worlds!"
