End of Chapter 16 -

"Listen, Y/N. I really am sorry about our fight, it will not happen again. I promise you."

"Carol, it's fine. You were right, Morgana did need stopping. Did you know she had a dragon?"

"Aithusa, yeah." Carol shrugs, and giggles slightly, "did I not tell you that part?" She stops giggling, and looks at you lovingly. You return the look, and blush. You start to lean in, and tease her by not kissing her, and instead asking a question.

"So, where is our next stop?" You smirk.

"Anywhere." Carol replies.

***

"Anywhere?" You clarify.

"Yes, anywhere. That's what I said." Carol replies, laughing.

"How about Terra? You can reunite with all of your Terran friends and family."

Carol doesn't say anything after you suggest Earth, instead she stares at you.

"What, Carol? Did I do something wrong?" You hesitantly ask. She doesn't respond, and turns away from you. "Carol?" You ask, moving to the side in an attempt to see her face.

"Okay, Y/N. We'll go to Earth. If you really want to see what my life was like before everything."

"If you want to go somewhere else, we can! You don't have to take me there if you don't want to."

"No, Y/N. I want to show you where I'm from. Who am I to turn down your suggestion after our horrible fight just now." She breathes out.

"Okay." You agree with a small smile.

En Route to Earth/Terra (whatever you wanna call it)

You held onto Carol as tightly as you could as she sped through the stars. She looked so focused on her destination. You look at her and smile, you were so lucky to have her in your life. You stay looking at her until she catches you, "take a picture, it'll last longer." She says, with a chuckle.

"Sorry, you just look so focused and beautiful. I couldn't help myself from getting distracted." You begin to blush as she looks at you.

"Carol, look out!" You scream and point to your right, as an asteroid comes flying straight towards you. Carol turns suddenly, and flies upwards at the speed of light. You cling to her tighter than you ever have before. You're pretty sure you've squeezed the life out of her. The asteroid flies past you both, continuing on its path through space.

"Are you okay?" You both ask each other at the same time. Without answering, you both burst into a fit of laughter. You both calm down and stay floating in the void of space, staring into each other's eyes. Carol begins to lean in, resting her forehead against yours.

"I love you." She says, closing her eyes, her forehead still against yours.

"I love you too, Carol." You reply, before closing the gap between you both. You run one hand through her hair and the other stays on her neck. She has both hands on your waist.

20 Jumps from Earth

You and Carol have been flying for what seems like eternity.

"Carol, how many jumps have we got left until we reach Terra?" You ask.

"Around 20, why?"

"I'm excited to meet everyone! I wonder what they're like." You ponder.

"Well, Y/N. I haven't seem them for a while, so who knows?"

"Do Terrans not do space missions like the Guardians? Have they not come out to meet you halfway from their world and wherever you are?"

"Not yet, I don't think. Maybe in a few years they'll voyage out to the stars. The only time we did go out into space was to beat the Russians in a race. The Russians sent multiple ships to space, each of them without a crew. At one point, they were sending different animals up into space. Poor things. Anyway, the Americans were the first to pilot a crew to the Moon, which orbits the Earth. Their names were Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. They placed a flag, to declare they were there before the Russians. They televised the whole thing, so the whole world could see." Carol explains, with fascination lacing her voice. "They're part of the reason I wanted to be a pilot, you know?"

"Wow. That's amazing. Can we make a pit stop at the Moon?" You beg.

"Of course, Y/N."

On The Moon

You and Carol reach the Moon, but you're hesitant to release Carol from your grip. To be fair, you are on foreign soil. Carol's home planet and the orbiting... clump of rock? You look to your right, and see Carol smiling at you. "It's okay, Y/N. You can let go of me." She chuckles.

You let go of Carol, placing both feet on the surface of the Moon. "It feels just like anywhere else."

"Yes it does. Try jumping."

You do as she says, and jump. You're floating for around ten seconds before safely dropping to the rock again. "Wow. There's hardly any gravity! This is brilliant" You exclaim, whilst jumping a few more times to make sure it was real.

Carol is laughing at you, whilst looking around the Moon. "Y/N, there's the flag. Look!"

You stop jumping and turn around to where Carol is, looking for the flag. "I see it!" You bounce over to the flag, and inspect it closer. "So, this has been here for how long?"

"Around 50 years. There's no deterioration in space, so the fabric is still perfectly fine. Cool, right?"

"I'll say! Your planet is amazing!" You shout, a huge smile making it's way to your face. "Can we see Terra now?"

Carol doesn't respond, and is instead looking into the void of space. You walk over to her, and place your hand on her shoulder. "Carol? You there?" She doesn't respond again, and now you're worried. You look up to where she is looking, and see a massive spaceship making it's way to the planet below. "Who is that?"

"I don't know. But we need to go to Earth, now. They need our help." Carol's hero complex kicks in, "grab on." She instructs. You jump onto her and hold on to her neck. You wrap your legs around her waist and she takes off, heading straight to Earth.

You both plummet down through the stratosphere, reaching the skyline of Earth. You're still clinging to Carol for dear life, tightening your grip every now and then. You look down at the planet below you in shock. It isn't as pretty as you hoped it would be. "Carol, where are we and what happened here?"

"I don't know, and I don't think it's a good sign." She says, worried for her home world. You both land just outside of a dome, and you peer inside. You can see a crowd of people, and three others walking towards the edge of the dome.

"Who are you guys?" The male in a dark blue battered suit asks. He's attractive as hell! His suit appeared to have some sort of symbol missing, it looks like it's been ripped off. He was holding two black shields, with three points at the end of each one. He looked like he's been through hell and back. In fact, they all do.

"Steve." Carol breathes out. Who the hell is Steve?

"Hey Carol." He replies, breathing a sigh of relief. "You guys better come in. T'Challa, let them in, they can help us out."
