Chapter 20 - Thanos

End of Chapter 19 -

You look over to Steve, who is fighting Thanos hand-to-hand. Thanos tries to clench his fist to use a stone against him, but Steve grabs the gauntlet stopping him. You summon a portal directly below Thanos, and he falls through. "Where did you send him?" Steve panics.

"I... I don't know. But, he's not here anymore... isn't that good? Vision is safe!" You reason.

"Did you really think it was going to be so easy, Y/N?" A voice from behind you speaks. "I have the space stone, so I can teleport anywhere in the universe. Your silly little portals are useless against me. So, where is the sixth stone? The mind stone, and don't lie to me. I know you know of it and it's location. If you lie, you will not like the outcome at all."

"I don't have all day, little one. Tell me where the stone is." Thanos presses, as he grabs your waist and holds the gauntlet to your head. The purple gem starts to shine again, and you close your eyes in fear.

"Vision." Steve breathes out, looking at you with sorrow in his eyes. "Vision has the stone, in his forehead."

"Thank you, Captain." Thanos leaves to go find Vision, throwing you on the floor. You get up, holding your neck and coughing.

"Steve, what the hell did you do? Oh shit. He's going to end us all." You say, looking around you. Everyone comes and joins you, and you rush back to Carol checking her pulse. You crouch next to her, and move the hair out of her face. You lean down and whisper, "please wake up... Thanos is going to find Vision."

Carol's eyes open darting over to Steve who is looking at the ground, ashamed. "Steve? Is that true?" She weakly asks, looking up at you.

"Yes, it was the only way to save Y/N. We can catch up to him and attack. He can't take all of us." Steve says, looking at everyone. Bucky wanders over to Steve, and rests his human hand on his shoulder.

T'Challa nods, and looks at Okoye, "we need the Dora Milage to regroup and use battle strategy twelve. Everyone's focus should be on Thanos, and Thanos alone. No one is to be distracted. Find him!"

You split up into two groups, one to search the city and the other to search the fields. T'Challa, Okoye, Steve, Bucky, Sam, Rhodey, Natasha and Bruce search the Wakandan city for any sign of Thanos. You, Rocket, Groot, Carol and Thor search the rest of Wakanda.

Birnin Zana (The City)

"Split up. We need to find him as soon as we can. Bucky, with me." Steve says. Everyone splits up into pairs. T'Challa and Bruce, Okoye and Natasha, Rhodey and Sam and Steve and Bucky. T'Challa takes Bruce to Shuri's laboratory.

"How's Shuri getting on, T'Challa... Your Majesty? Is she doing okay removing the stone?"

"I don't know, my friend. Allow me to contact her using my Kimoyo beads." T'Challa grabs one of the beads on his bracelet and pinches it, "Shuri are you there?" Shuri's hologram appears from the bead.

"Hi brother! The stone extraction is going well. It's almost out!" She replies.

"That's brilliant news! Me and Bruce are on our way to you. Thanos slipped out of our hands." T'Challa explains. He looks over to Bruce, who is looking at the building. "We'll be five minutes, hold on. Come on, Bruce. Time to see the most advanced laboratory you'll ever be in."

Bucky's Farm

Steve and Bucky wander over to Bucky's old farm. It was just outside of Birnin Zana, and was relatively big. "So, this is the world famous farm?" Steve laughs, patting Bucky on the back.

A goat slowly makes it's way over to the pair and brushes against Steve's leg, "who's this little one?" Steve asks Bucky, whilst stroking the head of the goat.

"Steve."

"Yes?"

"No, you idiot, the goat. The goat is called Steve." Bucky laughs.

"Oh." Steve says, stopping to look at Bucky. He walks over and once again, puts his hand around Bucky's shoulder. "You've got a good life, Bucky. I'm proud of you."

"Thanks Steve."

"Hey, Rhodey! I think I can see something moving in a bush over here!" Sam shouts into the comms, flying over to the rustling bush. He lands, and his wings disappear into the suit. "What is that?"

"What is what, Sam?" Rhodes asks, plopping himself down next to Sam.

"That. Guys! I think I've found something!" Sam says into the comms whilst pointing to the bush. Both Sam and Rhodes start to edge back, arming themselves ready to battle whatever emerges. "On my mark, shoot... 3... 2..."

A goat jumps out of the bush, startling both of them. They both share a glance, before laughing. "False alarm everyone, it was one of Bucky's stupid goats." Sam says.

"Hey! My goats aren't stupid!" Bucky replies over comms, and everyone laughs.

"Okoye, the Dora Milage, how trained are they?" Natasha asks, making small talk as her and Okoye track footprints in the mud.

"Well enough to defend Wakanda from oncoming attacks, but none this scale. We deal in human crises, not extra-terrestrial."

"But, isn't Vibranium extra-terrestrial? I mean, it came from a meteor, which must have come from somewhere else." They both come to a halt just outside of Birnin Zana. "The footprints have stopped, we have a problem. He must have teleported." Natasha states over the comms.

"Roger that, Nat. On our way to you." Steve replies.

Nat laughs to herself, smiling at the ground. Okoye comes up to her, and enquires why she's laughing in the midst of battle. "It's just funny he said roger that, when his last name is 'Rogers'. Might just be my shitty sense of humour, but I found that quite funny."

"Okay, you strange person." Okoye replies, looking confused and narrowing her eyes. They both sit on nearby rocks, awaiting the others arrivals.

Everyone arrives to where Natasha and Okoye stand, looking at the non-existent footprints. Steve squats down, showing off America's ass, and picks up some soil. He examines it briefly, then drops it and rubs his hand on his suit. "Where could he have gone? Everyone, think of possible locations he could have gone to."

"Brother! Come quick! It's Thanos, he's here for Vision!" Shuri pops up on the Kimoyo beads, pleading for T'Challa's appearance in the labs.

"We'll be right there." T'Challa turns to everyone, "he's with Shuri, Wanda and Vision. We need to go. Now! I repeat, everyone to the laboratories." He says into the comms already running over, with Okoye following.

"Let's see what the 'space-terrorist' wants with Shuri." Bucky says to Sam, who nervously laughs and flies off.
