End of Chapter 13 -
"Is this it? Please tell me this is it! I'm getting super tired of making portals now..." You say, exhausted.
"Sorry, Y/N. I don't know where we are. This place is completely off the radar."
You look at the database on your suit to see the planet's name; Weirdworld.
***
"Carol... my database says we're on a planet called 'Weirdworld', also known as 'Battleworld'. Apparently, this planet is created of multiple fragments of others, like Crystalium. Oh my God." You come to a sudden realisation, "what if Crystalium doesn't exist anymore? What if the stupid dragon, Fin or whatever his name was, deliberately made us end up here?"
"Fin wouldn't do that, he has more common sense than that. We probably ended up here on accident, we need to find a way out."
"But what if there is no way out? What if we're stuck here?"
"Y/N, we are not stuck here. I promise you that. We will find a way out."
You find a couple of rocks nearby to sit on and think about how you will escape. Carol, on the other hand, is flying around, scouting for a possible jump point or even a crashed spaceship. Your thoughts are interrupted by Carol, "there's no sign of any jump points for us to fly through or any spaceships. Are you sure you can't make another portal to get us out?"
"I'm too drained to, Carol, even if I tried, I could only muster up enough strength to create a fist-sized portal. Try me again in about an hour."
"Ugh, fine." She sighs, sitting next to you. "Guess we'll have to occupy ourselves whilst you 'recharge'." Carol raises her eyebrow and smirks.
"Well, what do you have in mind?"
"Exploring?"
"Sounds good to me."
***
You and Carol enter a forest nearby where you arrived. However, what you both didn't know is that it is called 'Creepy Murder Forest'. You're both about 1/4 of a mile deep into the forest, when you see lots of skeletons scattered all around the place, and a figure standing over them. They look over their shoulder, and run away.
"They must have caused all of this destruction! We need to follow them." Carol says.
You and Carol follow the figure back to a small building on the outskirts of the forest. She appears to be casting a spell, allowing her real form to show. She's beautiful, wait, you shouldn't be thinking that.
"It's rude to spy, you know?" She says, watching from the window of the cabin.
You and Carol both look at each other, you didn't know she knew you were following her.
"I didn't know there were other people on this planet! My database says no one lives here." You say, confused.
"I'm not from here, I found myself stranded a few weeks ago, and I've been here ever since. Come on in, I'm sure you don't want to be outside when night falls."
"Wait, who are you first?" Carol asks.
"My name is Morgan le Fay, or should I say, Witch Queen le Fay."
***
"Should we trust her? She did say she was 'Witch Queen' le Fay." You ask, curious.
"We need to find out who killed all those people in the forest. My best guess, is her." Carol replies, following Morgan into the cabin. You sigh, and follow too.
"So, how did you end up here, Morgan? I mean, you don't look like a Queen. Wait, that sounded rude, I'm sorry." You rush.
"No, no it's fine, Y/N." Wait, how did she know your name? You didn't introduce yourself. "Back on Terra, I was sort of an outcast. I didn't have many friends, only my maid Guinevere. She tended to my every need. My brother, Arthur, was next in line for the throne after my father, Uther. But, they were both majorly against magic. So, when I found out that I had magic, I was scared. I never told anyone, but Merlin found out. Merlin was Arthur's servant, however he more than a servant, more of a confidant and best friend. When he found out, I swore him to secrecy. However, he told Arthur and I ran away. Forced to find a new home, I sheltered in a cottage outside of Camelot, my uncle Agravaine found me and assisted me in coming to terms with my powers. When Agravaine died, I was exiled from Camelot. That very exile led me here, to Weirdworld. Now, I'm the Queen of this whole world and I could not be happier." Morgan explained.
"That's an amazing story, Morgan. You've done so well shielding yourself from all the dangers everyone has thrown at you." You say.
"Y/N, can I talk to you privately?" Carol asks.
"Yeah. Morgan, will you excuse us?"
"Sure! You guys have fun. I'll be here, figuring out a way to dispose of the bodies in the forest."
***
"Carol, what's wrong?" You ask, slightly panicking.
"Please tell me you remember the story I told you, the myth from Terra? Merlin, the Great Warlock? That was her. The villain of the myth, is her."
"But she seems so lovely?"
"It's an alias, Y/N! Can't you see it? She's faking!" Carol shouts, holding her head in her hands out of frustration.
"Okay, so what do we do?" You walk over to her, and stroke her back to try and comfort her. Carol relaxes slightly, but is still really tense.
"We interrogate her, and find out what the real reason is for her staying here."
***
"Ah, you're back. Enjoy your privacy?"
"Ha ha, very funny. We have a few questions for you, Morgan, or should I say Morgana Pendragon." Carol presses.
"I have no idea who that is."
"Cut the bullshit, Morgana. I know who you are. I know you threatened Uther and Arthur into signing the throne over to you. I know you used your magic for evil. I know you resented your father so much, you thought of killing him in multiple different ways. So, tell me, 'Morgan', why are you so innocent now?" Carol interrogates.
"You've got to start fresh somehow. I put all of that behind me, now that I live here. There's no one to bother me here, so I'm at peace."
"The bodies in the forest, did they die because of you?"
"No."
"What did you do to them? Poison them?" Carol continues to press.
"Carol, stop it."
"No, Y/N! I will not. She killed them, I know what she's like. I've read about her, a lot. She's evil."
"Congratulations, Carol. You cracked it. Yes, I killed them, they were in my way. They said that I could never rule over this stupid world, I beg to differ. I've been preparing my whole life. I am capable!"
Carol stares at Morgan, ready to fight her. You stood behind Carol, thinking of ways to avoid another battle. A purple spiral forms in front of Carol, and you shove her through and quickly follow.
***
"What the hell, Y/N?! She needs to be stopped!"
"Don't you think we've done enough fighting for now? We've only just finished battling Ego, and now you want to start another fight? What has gotten into you?"
Carol grunts and storms off. I get that she wanted to stop Morgana from expanding her empire, but damn am I exhausted.
"Listen, Carol, I'm sorry. But, even superheroes need breaks sometimes. We still have to find Crystalium! C'mon, what do you say? Fancy a trip with me?"
"No."
What does she mean no?
