End of Chapter 15 -
Carol's P.O.V.
"Help me..." I hear from my comms. Oh no, Y/N! Wait, no. They betrayed me. But... oh fuck it!
"Y/N! I'm on my way! Where are you?" I rush out, trying to find any sign of where they have been or where they are. I reach Morgana's cabin, and see destruction. I can see a massive burn patch in the grass nearby; and a tree cut cleanly in half, several flames have been ignited on the branches. What worried me most was Morgana's lifeless body stranded in the middle of the mess. Oh Y/N, what have you done?
"Y/N? Can you hear me? Y/N?" I shout.
"Y/N!!!"

Carol rushes around the forest, searching for you. She stumbles across another small cabin, and goes inside. The walls hold several shelves with endless amounts of books and potions upon them. Carol picks up a red potion, looking at it. "You don't want to touch that." A voice says from behind her, causing Carol to turn instantly and prepare to fight.
"I don't mean no harm, I'm searching for my friend, Y/N. Have you seen anyone at all?" Carol asks, slightly panicking.
"I saw someone in a fight with the Witch Queen, could that be them?"
"Possibly. Did they have any powers that you could see? Maybe a purple force field, or portals?"
"Yes, they did have them. They appeared to come through a portal." That's Y/N!
"Do you have any idea where they went after the fight? I saw the body, so Y/N's still alive... I think. I hope so anyway."
"While I was out collecting wood for the fireplace, I saw the same person staggering from the portal into the clearing of the forest. They had a scar running from their eyebrow to their chin, and a burn on their shoulder. The suit had been burnt off, exposing the skin. The clearing is about 3 miles from here, heading west. You should find it. Keep to the trail, it's not called the 'Creepy Murder Forest' for nothing, you know."
"Thank you."

Carol follows the trail west, and reaches a small clearing. There were trees blossoming, and blue flowers blooming in a circle. A small pond can be seen to the left of her, with a three-headed deer drinking from it. Could this be the place he was talking about?
Carol slowly wanders round, inspecting every small aspect of the clearing. Where was Y/N? The weird guy in the cabin said they should be here. In the far right corner of the clearing was a small dug-out. Could Y/N be in there? Carol walks over and ducks down to see into the cave. It isn't very deep or dark, so she can see everything in there. She looks to the left of the dug-out, and sees something move. Could it be? Suddenly, the being jumps up, running out of the cave. Stupid deer, they're bloody everywhere!
Carol hears a small crunch from behind her, a branch snapping. She whips round at lightning speed, only to see the man from the cabin. "What do you want?"
"I followed you to tell you that I saw a figure shuffling past the cabin."
"What did they look like?"
"I saw the same kind of purple portal, and then the figure coming out of it and collapsing on the floor. Carol, could it be your partner?"
"Oh my God, yes! Thank you... wait, I didn't catch your name."
"My name is Charles."
"Well, Charles. Thank you for your help. Would you like to assist me in finding my partner?"
"It would be my honour, Carol."

Back at the Cabin
Ugh my head hurts. Wait, where am I?
You attempt to get up off the ground to look around your surroundings, only to come crashing down again out of weakness. Your eyesight hasn't fully recovered, so all you can see is green, blue and brown blurs.
It suddenly hits you, oh my God, I killed Morgana!
You bow your head and a single tear rolls down your cheek. You had never actually killed anyone with your bare hands before. Sure, you've rendered people unconscious using your force fields, but never actually murdered anyone. "Never again." You whisper to yourself before blacking out.

"Y/N? Y/N!" You feel two fingers pressed against your wrist, checking your pulse.
"Ah thank the heavens, they're still alive." Someone else breathes out, they sound like they've been running for ages.
"Y/N, can you hear me?" Carol?
You open your left eye to see two outlines of figures, one female and one male. You then close your eyes again, "Carol?" You ask, still waking up.
"Hey, I'm sorry about everything. You were right, superheroes do need breaks. Is Crystallium still an option? I'm sorry I said about not going, I was pissed off about you not letting me kill Morgana, but it turns out you done it anyway," Carol rushes, "I still want to go to Crystallium."
"Carol? Ugh, my head hurts like hell. Can you be a bit quieter? Also, who is this dude?" You ask, pointing to Charles.
"My name is Charles." He introduces. "I helped Carol find you. See that cabin over there, by the trees? Carol entered there and I told her I saw you, then we went searching."
"Yeah, hi Charles. Thanks for helping Carol, but can you... how do I put this nicely... give us a bit of privacy?" You ask.
"Yeah sure, if you need me I'll be brewing potions back at the cabin."
"Thank you for your help, Charles." Carol says as Charles begins to walk away.
He turns back to you both, "Anytime, Carol. Y/N, it was nice to meet you. I wish it was under different circumstances though. I'll see you both soon, I'm sure." Charles waves goodbye, and disappears into the cabin.
"Goodbye Charles." You both say in unison.
"Listen, Y/N. I really am sorry about our fight, it will not happen again. I promise you."
"Carol, it's fine. You were right, Morgana did need stopping. Did you know she had a dragon?"
"Aithusa, yeah." Carol shrugs, and giggles slightly, "did I not tell you that part?" She stops giggling, and looks at you lovingly. You return the look, and blush. You start to lean in, and tease her by not kissing her, and instead asking a question.
"So, where is our next stop?" You smirk.
"Anywhere." Carol replies.
