Jinyoung woke up and attended to his morning class as usual, which was biology that he absolutely hated. And he hated it more that Jaebum was there staring at him for half of the class, making him feel guilty for walking out on him the day before. Jinyoung wanted to hide under the desk, but he had to try and pass the quiz they had that morning, which he was totally sure he failed.
And when class ended, he caught a glimpse of Jaebum heading in his direction, which he really didn't want to deal with at the moment, so instead he quickly rushed out of the classroom to head on to the next. He refused to stop and look back until he was sure he'd lost Jaebum in the crowd of students, letting out a breath of relief once he'd turned around and spotted the elder nowhere nearby. He figured his best bet was to continue on to his next class so that he wouldn't end up caught by anyone.
"Jinyoung!"
Jinyoung halted, cursing under his breath as his plan crumbled to pieces. He spun around in search of the owner of the high pitched voice that had called out his name, catching a glimpse of a hand waving from afar that belonged to Yugyeom who had Youngjae and BamBam close behind him.
He truly did hate being flagged down, and a large part of him wanted to keep walking and ignore the trio. But they were a persistent bunch. If he ignored them now, they'll only come after him later. Why run from something unavoidable?
'What?" He asked as they approached, all three out of breath from trying to catch up with his fast walking pace.
"Remember how we mentioned Jackson's birthday yesterday?" BamBam asked, grinning widely as Jinyoung hesitantly nodded.
"Well, you're invited to the surprise party!" Youngjae exclaimed.
Jinyoung's brows immediately furrowed. He wasn't informed of any type of celebration plans. "P-Party?"
The three nodded, all of them nearly fidgeting with excitement out of their shoes. "Yeah, we're gonna surprise him in his dorm room after his classes end, and we kinda need your help setting everything up since you're his roommate, so you're invited to enjoy the festivities!" Bambam explained.
A red flag instantly went up. Jinyoung was sure that he'd made it clear that he wanted absolutely no part of Jackson's birthday whatsoever, and now to find out his only peaceful place was going to be turned into a party room? He might as well dig himself a grave to avoid all of it. "I don't want anything to do with it. Besides, we're not allowed to throw parties."
"It'll just be the six of us: me, Bam and Gyeom, you, Mark, and Jaebum. It's more of a mini celebration than a party, but we will be bringing cake! And we really need you to at least let us into the dorm room when classes end, you and Jackson are the only two with keys, so we're kind of depending on you." Youngjae clasped his hands in front of him, the other two mirroring the stance. It felt like they were close to getting on their knees and begging, and who knows how much of a scene that would cause.
"I... I just..." Jinyoung wanted to say no. The word was on the tip of his tongue, a simple two letter word that would crush his three puppy eyed classmates standing before him. He would've said it earlier if he hadn't heard Jaebum's name thrown in the mix. Jaebum was the only person who Jinyoung couldn't stand yet wanted to be around at the same time. It was weird, but something in him just couldn't refuse having him along with the others gathered there for a celebration. He was admittedly curious of where things would go. "Oh my god... fine, I'll let you into the room. But that's all I'm helping with, okay? I really don't want anything to do with Jackson, so please keep me out of the rest of your 'festivities'."
They all nodded, giggling excitedly amongst themselves. Youngjae gave a thumbs up as they started to walk off. "Sure thing! Thanks Jinyoung!"
Jinyoung watched them go, letting out a sigh. He had no idea what he'd just gotten himself into, and he definitely wasn't looking forward to later.
