Jinyoung sat atop Jaebum's bed, his head resting on his knees that were pulled to his chest. Mark sat upon his own bed, doing some work on his laptop. The two were naturally quiet with one another, so they sat in comfortable silence for the majority of the time.
An hour or so had passed since they had left Yugyeom's room, and no sign of Jaebum had popped up yet.
Every time Jinyoung heard footsteps approach, his eyes darted to the door, but his hopes were squashed when the footsteps would pass by the room.
Mark had been watching him do that for the past hour, and grew more concerned with each time. "Hey, relax."
"I am relaxed." Jinyoung replied, eyes still glued to the wooden door across the room.
"Don't lie. You've been watching the door like a hawk." The elder retorted.
Jinyoung sighed; obviously he wasn't relaxed, because he was worried about Jaebum. He really hoped the elder wasn't in a ton of trouble; he wanted to hug and punch the idiot at the same time for lying to protect him.
He buried his face in his arms, trying to ignore the way his chest tightened from the thought of his boyfriend. "I just told him last night that I loved him..."
"And he loves you back, so even if he is in serious trouble, it won't ruin things between you." Mark assured.
"You don't know that."
"I do. He's done so much just to be with you, and you think a little trouble is gonna keep him away? Aside from Jackson, he's the most persistent person I know."
The younger shook his head. Jaebum was admittedly very persistent, but that wouldn't stop him from feeling awful about the punishment he may receive due to his lies. "It feels like it's my fault if he gets expelled."
"He won't get expelled-"
"He criminalized himself! You know what he said was assault, right?"
Mark faltered, as the younger had a point; Jaebum did dig himself into quite the deep hole. But that didn't stop him from trying to keep Jinyoung's hopes positive. "Both me and you know he didn't assault anyone, especially not you."
"Of course I do, but that's not what he told them, so..." Jinyoung let out a frustrated sigh, lifting his head to continue staring at the door. "I just wanna know what they're doing with him. He's probably saying more shit to get himself in trouble, the dumbass. I'd rather it be me than him; I mean he's studied this hard just to throw it all away? How is he so dumb yet my tutor!?"
Mark allowed Jinyoung to emotionally rant until he was finished, giving him a few moments to calm down before speaking again. "Hey, you know what I do when I miss Jackson?"
"You get to see Jackson all the time." The younger retorted.
"Over the summers when I go home, I don't. We don't live near one another, so for a portion of the year we're long distance. Look." Mark watched Jinyoung slowly turn his attention toward him, tugging at the top he was wearing to show it off. "See, this isn't my shirt. Took it earlier today."
Jinyoung rolled his eyes and turned away. "Well you fucked him earlier in our dorm, I'm not surprised it's his clothes."
"It makes me feel good though. It smells like him and reminds me of his style, so I steal t-shirts and hoodies from him." The elder then pointed across the room to the closet that Jinyoung remembered Jaebum sifting through earlier that morning. "Jaebum's clothes are in his closet over there, if you're interested."
Jinyoung's eyes were drawn to the closet; most of Jaebum's clothes were stored in there. He stared at it for a long while, thinking of all the comfy outfits Jaebum wore that he loved snuggling against.
He remembered in particular a large green hoodie that he thought looked the cutest on Jaebum.
His chest warmed as he thought about it; since he didn't physically have Jaebum there with him, he supposed it wouldn't hurt to take something that would be a reminder of him.
He finally slid himself off the bed, making his way over to the closet to dig through the array of items. Jaebum's closet wasn't the most colorful, but that was his style that Jinyoung had always loved.
It was easy to find that green hoodie he was looking for, as it stuck out from the others. He pulled it out and stared at it for a few moments, then took it off it's hanger and threw it on over his t-shirt.
He loved how the fabric draped over him and was slightly too big, since Jaebum liked over-sized things and just in general had a slightly larger torso. It felt like a warm hug engulfing him. It smelled like him too, a sweet fresh smell that Jinyoung loved on Jaebum; he didn't know the fragrance, but he could identify it anywhere.
Drowning himself in Jaebum's clothes was a luxury he had no idea he was missing out on.
Mark watched from his bed, knowing how comforting it was despite Jinyoung refusing to show it. The younger acted like it was no big deal when he closed the closet and shrugged, but he looked as if at least a little bit of his stress had just melted away.
He was still concerned for Jaebum though, and although wearing his sweater helped, he craved the man himself more than anything. "What is taking them all damn day..."
"I have no idea..." Mark replied.
Jinyoung sighed; he was pacing again throughout the room. He had no idea why it was taking so damn long to get any information, Jaebum hadn't even texted.
Just as Jinyoung was nearly losing his mind again, there was a sudden knock at the door. He paused, looking over at Mark who looked back at him.
"Jaebum?" He called as he rushed to the door and opened it.
His hopes were squashed when he was met with someone who definitely wasn't Jaebum. He didn't know this person, but Jinyoung immediately spotted the student leader badge on their chest.
"Park Jinyoung?" They asked while looking down at a note in their hand before glancing up at him.
"Y-Yes?" He answered.
"I tried to find you in your dorm, but your roommate said you'd be here. I need you to come with me."
Jinyoung frowned, glancing back at Mark who just shrugged. "Um... f-for what?"
"To talk about the incident with Im Jaebum that happened earlier today." The student replied.
"Is Jaebum okay-?"
"The question is, are you okay?" The student leader asked before turning on his heels, gesturing for Jinyoung to come along. "Please, follow me."
Jinyoung hesitantly stepped out of the room, looking back at Mark who wore a mask of worried confusion. Jinyoung was confused as well, but he hoped he was being taken to the same place where Jaebum was so that he could at least hold on to a shred of his sanity with the presence of the person he loved.
