Jinyoung walked into his dorm, totally not expecting a butt to be the first thing he saw.
He just so happened to return to his dorm from the library in the middle of Jackson and Mark's intimate time together; lucky for him the only clothing item that was removed was Mark's shirt, but the sight of him straddling Jackson wasn't exactly something Jinyoung wanted printed on his brain.
He paused just in front of the door, quickly turning his eyes away. "Oh my god-"
"Can't you fucking knock?" Jackson scolded, slicking his tongue as Mark quickly got off of him.
"This is my room too!" Jinyoung retorted.
Mark sighed, ignoring the two's bickering. "We just got started. Hurry up so we can continue."
"I planned on staying but I guess not..." Jinyoung grumbled, deciding to set his bag down and grab his wallet. He intended on relaxing in his bed after a long day of classes, but now he just wanted to be anywhere else but in his dorm. The cafe was the only other place Jinyoung felt like going at the time, therefore it looked as if he'll spend a few hours drinking a smoothie and staring as random people walk by.
He quickly left his room and allowed the couple to get on with what he had interrupted, knowing that he definitely couldn't return anytime soon. As he made his way down the hallway, he spotted a familiar face who he seemed to be running into quite a bit nowadays.
"Youngjae." He called as the younger approached from down the hall, again obviously distracted by something on his mind.
"Oh, hey Jinyoung..." he mumbled, slowing down just a bit once he recognized the elder.
Youngjae's eyes darted from Jinyoung to a door just a few feet away, his attention switching between the two. Jinyoung curiously looked at the door, noticing two more familiar names written on a sign stuck to the wood: 'Yugyeom & BamBam's Lit Chill Room'. It was a ridiculous sign that made little to no sense, but the pair were happy with it, so no one criticized them about it.
Jinyoung easily put two and two together, realizing that he was standing in the way of Youngjae's destination.
"You spending a lot of time with Yugyeom huh?" Jinyoung asked, a little smirk crawling across his lips as he leaned close enough to speak in a low whisper. "Y'know, he told me about you guy's kiss."
Youngjae's jaw immediately fell open. "H-He did?"
"Yup." Jinyoung nodded, chuckling at the younger's reaction. "I mean, I'm happy for you two, if things are working out well."
"You are?" Youngjae asked in confusion, as if Jinyoung being happy for anyone was a strange concept.
"Yeah?" He replied. Maybe he should be nicer more often, since it was obviously expected of him to be rude and nasty. He didn't need to worry himself about Youngjae and Yugyeom's relationship though, as he caught a glimpse of the younger's neck and identified quite a few love bite markings. "I'm sure things are just fine though, judging by those hickeys."
"Hickeys-...?" Youngjae panicked, looking down at himself to try and find the hickeys that were for the most part out of sight. He was able to see one on his chest and another on his shoulder; though he had no idea how many more marking's were carelessly left on him. "Fuck, I gotta hide them..."
"Just get some makeup, it'll be fine." Jinyoung suggested. He's never had to hide hickeys before, but he was sure that a simple cover up would do that trick.
"Yeah..." Youngjae nodded, his mind now totally occupied by something else; he was barely focused on the conversation anymore. "I mean... thanks... um, things are interesting between us all."
"You all?" Jinyoung repeated confusedly.
Youngjae blinked himself out of his thoughts, clearing his head so he could cover up his slip-up. "I-I mean... like, y'know... just... everyone in this school dealing with the whole no relationships thing. It's interesting "
"Ah, that it is." Jinyoung replied. He could tell that Youngjae wasn't 100% focused on their conversation anymore, assuming it was most likely due to his rush to get to Yugyeom, so he didn't stand in his way any longer. "Good luck."
Youngjae waved and greeted the elder goodbye, seemingly letting out a breath of relief once Jinyoung had left.
Jinyoung enjoyed the cafe, but often people went there with friends or partners to just hang out in its relaxing environment. He felt a bit weird always going there alone, but it was often his go to place when he had nowhere else to turn.
He let out a heavy sigh, turning a corner that led to the dorm complex entrance. Except, just as he turned that corner, he ran directly into the chest of the man he couldn't seem to get away from.
He stumbled back a few steps, pretending not to be enchanted by the intoxicating cologne and the soft broad chest that the smell emanated from.
"Oh, hi there." Jaebum greeted with a chuckle, instinctively reaching out to stabilize Jinyoung with a hand on his shoulder.
"J-Jaebum..." the younger stuttered as he gazed up at the beautiful face that stood before him.
"Where you running off to?" Jaebum asked, head tilted curiously, like an adorable puppy.
Jinyoung blinked, needing a moment to remember his destination. "The uh... c-cafe?"
Jaebum's eyes lit up, a smile rising to his lips. "Oh? The same one you ran away from me in?"
The younger winced at the memory. He was so used to avoiding Jaebum that being with him while having all of his insecurities exposed was a bit too much at the time; but obviously it probably offended Jaebum. "Ah, yeah uh... s-sorry about that..."
"Don't worry I'm not being bitter." Jaebum reassured as he mindlessly reached out and patted Jinyoung's head. He hummed fondly as he played with the soft fluffy locks atop the younger's scalp. "How about I join you?"
"Y-You wanna come?" Jinyoung asked in disbelief, as if Jaebum's desire to accompany him was unusual.
Jaebum nodded eagerly. "It'll be uh... first date kinda thing, I suppose."
Jinyoung's eyes widened; everything seemed to suddenly be moving so fast, it startled him. "D-Date? You wanna start dating? Are we dating?"
"Relax. I haven't labeled anything yet." Jaebum chuckled. Jinyoung's nerves were plain to see; he over-thought things and ignored impulses, which Jaebum always took into consideration whenever he interacted with the younger. "If you don't wanna call it dating, then... we're just two friends hanging out in a cafe."
Jinyoung wasn't sure about being 'just two friends hanging out in a cafe', but he was even more unsure about considering their relationship 'dating'. It freaked Jinyoung out, he didn't know what they were or what they should be, but he'd rather wait and make that decision later than deciding their status right away. "Oh... okay..."
The elder smiled happily, looking at Jinyoung with such a warm gaze that the younger could melt. "Gimme a sec to grab my phone and jacket."
Jaebum ran off to his dorm, leaving Jinyoung to wait for his return. He couldn't help but think of the whole dating thing. He didn't even know what was considered dating or not. He was so new to this whole concept, that he wasn't confident enough to even properly confess to Jaebum yet. It was too scary to jump into at the moment; Jinyoung just hoped that Jaebum didn't mind it either.
"I'm back!" Jaebum called, now with a light jacket on and wallet in hand that he stuffed into his pocket. "Alright let's go!"
A hand slid around Jinyoung's waist in such a smooth move, it sent butterflies fluttering around in his chest. Jaebum always made him feel that way, and though Jinyoung tenses up like a block of ice most of the time, his heart pounding hard against his chest showed just how much he enjoyed it and the man responsible for his rapid heart beat.
