"Tomioka-san." I called out as soon as he turned his back at me.

I can't believe he actually smiled!

"Nani?" He replied shortly.

"You smiled." I said and stepped infront of him. His gaze locked with mine.

His fringe casually covered his dark blue eyes. It was making him more appeali- why am I thinking of this?!

"Yeah and so?" He raised an eyebrow at me and crossed his arms on his chest.

"That's weird." I bluntly said. "I mean, that's unusual."

He remained silent.

"Do you not have any friends?" I asked again. As expected he glared at me. A small smile formed my lips when his lips twitched.

Try me, Tomioka.

I was just about to annoy him even more when he opened his mouth and uttered something. Something that made me glare back at him.

"You're short." He examined me from head to toe.

"WHAT?" I fired back. He was already insulting me that made my blood boil instantly.

"You got angry." He casually said, still emotionless.

"Nani?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

What is he plotting this time?

"You're asking questions." He pointed at me.

"Tomioka-san!"

"You're calling my name." He poked my forehead.

"Stop!" I slapped his hand away from my face.

"Okay." He closed his eyes and sprinted away from me.

I immediately massaged my temples. That stressful baka is making me annoyed instantly.

If only I had the strength, Tomioka would probably be headless already.

I clenched both of my fist out of irritation.

"Kocho-sama." I heard Aoi call.

I shot my eyes open and took a deep breath.

Calm down.

I composed myself first before facing Aoi.

"Yes, Aoi?"

"Kanao just got home." She said and bowed before leaving me.

I sighed and headed to the courtyard.

As expected she was there, standing near the well, having the butterflies fly around her.

"Kanao!" I called and smiled at her.

She smiled back at me.

"Where have you been?" I asked.

She answered by looking at the gate.

I sighed.

Why does she not like speaking?

"And why did you?" I placed my hand on her head, patting it.

Instead of answering, she gave me a small pouch.

"Is this for me?" I asked and she just nodded her head.

As I open the pouch, it revealed a hair ornament. It was like what I usually wear, except it was color red.

"This is pretty, Kanao." I smiled at her while holding the ornament on my hand. "Did you really buy this for me?"

She hesitated before shaking her head.

What?

"Then who did?" I furrowed my eyebrows while looking at her. She took something out of her pocket.

It was the coin that my sister gave her. She tossed it in the air and caught it.

Kanao closed her eyes after seeing the coin on the back of her hand.

She sighed before speaking with a little worry in her voice.

"Tomioka-san asked me to." She smiled sheepishly.

That prick! Why did he ask Kanao to do so?

"Why?" I asked.

Bad people are out there and yet the Water Pillar asked Kanao to run an errand for him? What a lazy head!

She just shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she doesn't know anything.

I massaged my temples for the second time out of annoyance.
