"VIRGIL DON'T YOU DARE WALK AWAY FROM ME!" It's been a month since Virgil spoke with Kai for the first time. In that time he's spoken with the guy so much Remus has even been making jokes. Right now, however... "VIRGIL, PLEASE?!" Virgil turned around to find Roman, tears in his eyes as he hugged himself tightly.
"What?" The actor groaned as he walked over and just grabbed Virgil's hand. Virgil was actively suppressing any reaction. Since that day with Kai, Virgil has been slowly bringing himself to hang out with Roman more. It didn't take long for him to notice how clingy Roman was when he did. "Ro..."
"Don't leave..." Roman's voice shook as Virgil sighed. "W-We only h-had a few minutes... I haven't seen you in..."
"I have class Roman." The actor froze up as Virgil pulled his arm from his grasp. "I told you I didn't have long."
"Virgil, you never have long." Roman wiped the tears from his eyes as he hugged himself again. "I literally have to beg you to hang out with me. I-I thought we were friends... I..."
"Roman, I have class." The actor deflated only for Virgil to take his hand again. "Last I checked You were still apart of it." Roman's eyes went wide as Virgil laughed. "You didn't forget, did you? The plays not that long away."
"Wait you want me to..." Virgil's eyes flashed as he squeezed Roman's hand. "But I thought..."
"Roman, you offered to be Veronica. Just because I didn't want to be JD doesn't mean I'm going to push you away." Virgil sighed as he started to lead Roman towards the theater. "Come on. We practiced our scenes enough."
"Virgil..." Virgil ignored the way Roman's voice shook as they ran through the halls. Virgil knew... He understood what was going on with Roman. Kai and him have been talking enough for Kai to inform him. Every attack... every episode... every time Roman would just stare at his phone expecting something, Virgil knew it all. That's why it hurt so much and why he refuses to acknowledge how obvious it was now. Roman clearly knew it was him otherwise why else would the man be so fucking clingy. "Virgil let go..." Unless its times like this. Virgil let go and turned around to see Roman on the brink of tears again. "Don't force yourself to hang out with me because I'm... I know I'm not exactly... I'm clearly not well." Virgil frowned as Roman stepped back. "I don't want you to think you have to be my friend or anything.
"Roman, what are you talking about?" They've done this too... several times. Roman gets clingy and then guilty over 'pushing' Virgil... so Virgil has to pretend to not even notice so that Roman relaxes a bit.
"Look at me, Virgil. You can see I'm not all there right now." Virgil smiled as shook his head.
"Roman, all I see is someone who's a little lonely. There's nothing wrong with that. Patton's been spending ALL his time with Logan and I've been busy..." Roman growled and Virgil sighed. "Roman, it's ok. I'm not going anywhere..."
"but you want to..." Virgil froze as Roman looked away. "Virgil, I know you don't actually want to..."
"We're friends, Roman." Roman's eyes widened as Virgil laughed. "Why wouldn't I want to hang out with you." Virgil was confusing him. He knew that. Roman knew Virgil knew he was princey so obviously Roman also knew Virgil didn't want to talk to him anymore. The radio silence on the phone end was proof enough but for Virgil to stand there and say that meant that Virgil did want to be with him and therefore confused the shit out of the actor. Virgil wanted it that way. Thay way Roman was oblivious about Virgil acting about being oblivious. "Let's go, Ro. We have a class to attend."
"Oh... Uh. Yeah." The entire class Roman just sat there in the empty seats watching Virgil on stage. His mind was reeling. He didn't understand it. He remembered it. When Virgil finally spoke to him again... He was not doing so well.
At that time he was rereading all their texts in silence at the Sands. He knew someone had sad across from him but he never looked up to see. He just assumed it was Remy again. That man would sit with him every time he came because he was worried about him. It wasn't Remy. Roman's eyes gave a quick glance up only for his whole body to freeze up as he looked again just to confirm what he saw was right.
"Hey, Roman." Virgil smiled as Roman chocked out a broken gasping sob that Virgil ignored.
"W-What..." Virgil pointed back toward the wall and Roman's eyes widened seeing Remy leaning against the wall.
"Remy called me. He said he was concerned." Roman frowned as he just resumed staring at his phone. "What are you looking at?" My love taring my heart out... Roman sighed as he put his phone away and rested his head against the table. "Roman?"
"Do you hate me?" Roman hadn't seen his reaction but the feeling of Virgil's hand against his made his body alight. Roman grabbed Virgil's hand tightly as if afraid the man would disappear on him again and Virgil just smiled.
"Of course not. We're friends, Roman." Roman's eyes narrowed as he snapped back to the present. Virgil was on the ground wincing as he held his ankle and Roman snapped.
"VIRGIL?!"
"I'm ok, Roman." Virgil laughed as Roman literally jumped onto the stage forgoing the steps as he helped Virgil up. "I just tripped is all."
"Virgil, you have to be careful..." Virgil winced again as he stumbled into Roman who caught him as his heart raced. "Virg..."
"I think I'm gonna have to take a break from rehearsal."
"Virgil... How bad is it?" The teacher was obviously concerned with his student's health but at the same time... He had a play to put on. Virgil just smiled as he leaned against Roman for support.
"I don't think it's too bad, but I'll have it checked out and get back to you." The teacher nodded as Roman literally picked him up bridal style. "ROMAN!"
"Relax, Virgil." Roman laughed but Virgil could feel how his hands shook. "I just don't want you walking and risk it getting worse."
"You don't have to carry me..." Roman just shot him this look and Virgil sighed admitting his defeat. "Fine... whatever."
"Good... and then after the doctors, you can accompany me to the family cookout." Virgil froze up in shock as Roman just laughed carrying him off.
"WAIT WHAT!"
