Roman stared after Virgil as the anxious man ran to get to Drama on time. Patton just sat there and waited, noticing the way his friend froze up. There was just something about that guy and Roman couldn't put his finger on it.
“You good, Ro?” Roman snapped out of it with a laughed pushing his hat down further.
“Of course, Pat.” Roman sighed as he reached over lifted up a smaller box. Patton just smile knowingly at the actor. “You think he's gonna get mad?”
“Who Anx? Why cuz you bought him a new phone?” Roman looked down as he opened the box to reveal a very expensive Iphone. “Or because you spent so much on him?”
“Both... I don't want him to think... well anything negative really. I know his anxiety can get to him. I just... I don't know.” Roman groaned as he pulled the phone only to smile a bit. He had it customized.
“Oh, Roman... wow.” There was a custom case that Roman designed himself. It had a black background with purple plaid and pink patches 'sewn' in with thick white thread. It was all on a soft matte rubber grip like material so that it was easier to hold and if it fell the back did scrape of scuff. Roman spent hours finding music from bands that Anx had mentioned as well as some Kai had recommended since he likes the same music. He added apps he thought Anx would find help full and imputed his and Patton's numbers in as emergency contacts. And on top of that he got a app that added a button that allowed Virgil to send an 'AuRa' without having to type it out. “That is too much, Ro.”
“I know but... I also just couldn't not... do it either. I'm a softy.” Patton laughed softly has he took the phone from Roman with a smile. “Make sure he gets it? I wanna see Mr. Davidson's class. It's been so long since I was here.”
“Go on kiddo. I promise he'll get it.”
Walking into the theater was nostalgic. He spent so much time here as a student in and out of class. It was his safe place. He eyes darted about seeing the students running left and right. Roman immediately recognized the scene. They were doing Heathers.
Roman quietly moved to he was close enough to see and hear well but far enough so no one noticed him. He sat down crossing his legs with a smile as he pulled his glasses off and just watched with a smirk.
He spotted Virgil watching up on stage and Roman narrowed his eyes in thought as the anxious one mouthed the words along. Their eyes seemed to meet for a second, although Roman doubted it, and Virgil retreated back behind the stage.
“Alright thank you guys.” Mr. Davidson's voice boomed throughout the space without a need for a mic. By the way he was slouched over a seat Roman could tell something was up.
“Sir, when are we going to go over the song Freeze your brain?” The teacher groaned softly as he stood up straight and Roman frowned.
“Unfortunately we cannot. Not until we find a replacement for JD. It seems Mr. Fayne is no longer able to participate. Wait.. actually we might be able too.” Mr. Davidson glanced around the room until he spotted a dark hoodie and smiled. “Mr. Grey.” Roman narrowed his eyes as Virgil froze turning to see the teacher gesturing for him to the front of the stage.
“Y-Yes, Mr. D-Davidson.”
“You know the song right?” Virgil nodded and the teacher smiled even wider. “You know the lines too, right? I mean you've pretty much memorized the entire script.” Again he nodded looking a little anxious.
“Yea.. It's a habit from helping Cassidy so much. Why?”
“I would like you to step in for JD.” Virgil's eyes went wide as he started shaking his head. Roman just sat back and watched with interest. “It's just for today at least. I know you can, Virgil.”
