"Why did I agree to go with you?" Virgil stood there with Roman laughing beside him as the actor helped him walk down the sidewalk. "You didn't have to do that you know?"
"Do what?" Virgil frowned as Roman smiled at him. "Take you here? Weren't you already going to..."
"Not that. You didn't have to take me to the hospital. You didn't have to carry me the whole way or drive me. You don't have to help me, Roman." Roman hesitated a bit as Virgil shook his head. "I appreciate it. I really do, but..."
"Virgil, I did it because I care. My friend got hurt. Why wouldn't I want to help?" Virgil's eyes darkened as he sighed. "Besides if I didn't you would have never gone."
"I didn't have to anyway. The doctor said it should be ok in a few weeks." Roman shot him this look as Virgil just smiled.
"Yes, a few weeks with the brace on and no strenuous labor. Meaning I am going to be helping you as much as I can, Virgil." Roman's hand squeezed his as they continued down the way. "I want to make sure you're going to get better. I care about you, Virgil. I just feel bad I wasn't able to help you before you ended up hurt."
"Well, how can I refuse when you put it like that?" Virgil laughed as he leaned into Roman a bit making it seem like he needed more support when in reality he just wanted to be held. "Besides, it's not your fault I got hurt Roman."
"No, but if I was paying attention..."
"It's not your fault, Roman." Roman wrapped his arm around Virgil as they drew closer to the home. "The fact that you are helping me now means more than you know."
"Virgil, I..." The front door of the house burst open with a fit of barks and Roman froze in his spot. Roman didn't want to move because he was holding Virgil but the moment that little devils head popped up Roman found himself standing up on a stone pillar to avoid it. "K-Killer?" Roman's face paled as the beast yipped, barked, and tried to bite at him. Virgil just stood there stunned at the scene.
"You screamed." Roman's face fell as he looked up to see Virgil holding back the laughter. He hadn't even noticed he did that. "You screamed like a girl."
"Shut up..." Virgil broke out in a fit of giggles as Roman reeled back to avoid getting nipped at. "CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET THIS DOG?!"
"Serves you right Roman." The actor frowned as Remus picked his dog up with a smile. "Killer doesn't like jerks who don't tell their brother they're here."
"No... Killer just doesn't like me." Roman refused to move, afraid if he did Remus would let his dog down. Virgil was still laughing at the fact that Kai was right about Roman's scream. "Why the hell would you name a dog Killer anyway."
"Actually Roman... you named him." Roman's eyes went wide as Remus sighed holding his dog tightly. "Monster Killer... That's what you called him. You said he was going to be a monster killer. So I just kept calling him killer."
"Oh..." Roman finally started to move off the pillar as Remus handed the dog over to Virgil. Killer instantly started kiss attacking the man as Virgil laughed. "Well, he likes Vee."
"Of course he likes me. I was there when Remus got him." Roman tensed as their eyes met. "I've been friends with Remus for years now."
"Oh..." Virgil frowned seeing the way Roman's eyes dulled a bit as he looked away. Remus just laughed as he ran over wrapping his arm around the smaller one.
"How's your new boo, boo?" Shit... Virgil shot Remua a look knowing exactly what he was doing and he was not happy. Remus just narrowed his eyes daring the anxious one to do something about it. "You've been spending so much time with your new boyfriend..."
"H-His what?" Virgil cringed at how Roman's voice broke. However, as expected the actor only displayed a happy smile. "You've got a boyfriend?"
"No."
"Oh, don't be like that Virgil. You and that... what's his name..." Virgil growled as Remus laughed. "You're literally always with him. Turned my offers to hang down many times to be with him."
"Kai... You're talking about Kai and if they're not here to tell you their pronouns, I'd appreciate it if you use neutral... It's only fair." Roman's eyes went wide as Virgil shoved the dog into Remus's arms. "I told you they aren't my boyfriend."
"Did you see them today?" Virgil tensed before nodding and Remus smirked. "And when was that?"
"Just before meeting up with Ro. What's with the questions? You already knew..." Virgil's eyes went wide as he turned to see Roman hugging himself. "Roman?"
"Were they why you were late? It's ok if it was. I mean, your both my friends..." Remus frowned seeing the way Roman's hands shook terribly as he tried to hide them. He went to far this time.
"I'm just messing." Roman frowned more as Remus nudged his brother. "It's what I do. Hey Virgie? Whatever happened to that assignment?" Virgil sighed as Roman glanced over at him without moving.
"I gave that up." Virgil went to walk on only for his foot to move the wrong way and start to fall. Roman caught him before could get hurt more and Virgil frowned. "Sorry."
"Hey now. Don't apologize for needing help." Remus just watched as the two held close together. Remus knew... He knew how Virgil felt about his brother. Just like he heard the desperation in Roman's voice over the phone. He also the love Roman held in his eyes as he held Virgil tight. Maybe this time... he'd tone it back a bit... if only for Roman... or Virgil.
"We should actually get going. Patton already arrived and let me tell you..." Remus giggled as he skipped backward. "The man he brought..." Remus fanned himself making Virgil laugh. "...it's something about nerds."
"Have you broken him yet?" Remus laughed as Virgil smirked at him.
"Actually, I haven't." Remus's eyes shined as he helped his brother with assisting Virgil. "He doesn't seem affected by me at all." Remus smiled as they stared towards the back. "And knowing this family, if he isn't affected by me then... He's a keeper. I'm happy for Patton."
"Logan's a good man." Virgil spoke softly as he leaned against Roman more subconsciously. Remus just nodded as he jumped away knowing his brother could handle it fine on his own. The two watched the eccentric actor run into the back yard with an energetic grin and Virgil just laughed as Remus yelled out.
"GUESS WHO'S HERE!"
