"Are you all set, Kiddo?" Virgil hugged himself as he let out a deep breath. "Virgil?"

"Yeah..." Virgil adjusted his mantle and smiled as he nodded. "I've got this. I'm just gonna meet up with Roman. I'll be fine."

"You sure?"

"I'm sure Roman can watch him, Pat." Logan smiled as he pulled his boyfriend in and Patton sighed, his pastel rainbow dog ears scrunching up as he leaned against Logan. "Let's get ourselves in there."

"Ok, but if anything happens, let me know Kiddo." Patton laughed as he looked over and fixed up Logan's smudged wiring makeup. "Why, Squip?" Logan smirked as he booped Patton's dog nose.

"Why a rainbow dog?"

"Go on you two." Virgil nudged the two forward as he laughed. "Have a good time." Patton and Logan disappeared into the crowd as Virgil anxiously adjusted his costume again. He kept his eyes low as he ran his tongue over those plastic fangs that took him forever to put on because they just would not stay in. He didn't know why he was so anxious. He already got through the hardest part. He said goodbye. All he had to do was see Roman, hear his question, and leave. This was it. This is all he had to do. Virgil groaned as he got pushed for what seemed like the tenth tie and he just deflated. He promised to give Prince tonight but... His nerves were just way too...

"Well, don't you look..." Virgil spun around finding Roman standing there with this look in his eyes. "...stunning. You know they say imitation is the highest form of flattery but seeing you dressed up as my Prince Vladimir Glass is just..." Roman's eyes shined with absolute fondness as he smiled. "You look far better than I ever did." Virgil literally froze up seeing the outfit Roman had on. Roman smiled as he gestured to himself. "Like it? It took me a while but I think I got it right." Roman dusted off the scarlet sash he had on and Virgil laughed.

"You're a prince." Roman nodded as he bowed. "You actually dressed up as a Prince."

"I am your Princey, aren't I?" Virgil's smile fell and Roman sighed. "Don't... You promised me tonight."

"I promised to give you that question. I'm not going to pretend everything's ok, Roman." Virgil hugged himself as he narrowed his eyes. "I'm not going to do that to you."

"Virgil..." Roman smiled softly as he took Virgil's hands in his and moved towards the center of the room. "Dance with me?"

"Roman, I don't..." Roman shot him a look shutting him up as Virgil sighed. "Ok." Roman smiled as he pulled Virgil in, putting on hand around the man's waist and the around his neck lacing his fingers through his hair. Virgil tensed but smiled as he rested his head on Roman's shoulder.

"It's ok, Virgil." Roman could feel Virgil shaking. "It's just us. Ok? That's all that matters right now. Just you and me."

"Roman..."

"Shhh, Love. It's all going to be ok." The two stood there swaying in time to the music in a lock that was far more of an embrace than a dance. However, neither man complained.  Sure there were whispers. There are always going to be whispers. It was Roman Black after all. "I've got you, Love."

"Roman, stop. What's the point in prolonging this?" Roman frowned but neither one moved apart from each other. "What's the point in pretending? It's over."

"Virgil, I told you. I had something very important to ask, but... I was really hoping it wouldn't be like this." Virgil's eyes narrowed as Roman held him tighter. "Can't we have just this moment before then?"

"Roman, your stalling."

"Of course I'm stalling!" Roman pulled away with tears in his eyes effectively silencing the entire room. Virgil looked around to see everyone staring at them but Roman's attention was solely on the man before him. "Virgil, I don't want to lose you."
