"I'll see you in a bit Y/N." Bailey said as I got up, the enthusiasm he had this morning had seemingly disappeared, only confirming my previous thoughts that maybe he does have a bit of a thing for me. "See you in a bit, Bailey, enjoy your lunch." I smiled at him. I really hoped that there would be no awkwardness between us, he seemed nice enough, but I didn't want him to think that there would be any possibility for anything more than friends. I'd dealt with this before, and I hoped that the situation would clear itself up.
I left the room, and stood to the side of the hallway, waiting for Jimmy to appear. People were all heading towards the main entrance, most likely to go and get their own lunch, and many of them stopped to ask me how my day was going, and if I was enjoying myself. I felt so lucky to be surrounded by so many people that were all so lovely. I seemed to remember all of their names as well, which I mentally congratulated myself for.
The hallway emptied, and it wasn't long before I heard footsteps coming round the corner. "Y/N!" I heard a deep voice say, and I found myself having to tilt my head quite far back to greet the face of The Viking. "Hey!" I said, smiling, "Thank you so much for my gift!" I told him, and he gave me a hearty smile back. "I'm glad you like them! I like to make people feel welcome." He told me, "I was a little worried leaving them in there though, I thought Bailey might eat them." He joked, I chuckled, "I really appreciate it, everyone seems so nice around here, I can't ever imagine having a bad day around any of you." I said.
We made general chit chat for a couple of minutes, he told me a few stories about his time being friends with Jimmy, and gave me a little backstory about how he got to where he is now. I was enjoying the conversation so much that I didn't even hear Jimmy coming down the hall, and I didn't see Chandler until he had jumped on Jake's back. "Hey!" He shouted, not even phasing the burly man standing in front of me. "Hey Chan" I said, watching as Jake playfully shoved the man-child off his back. "Hey Y/N, sorry I'm late." Jimmy said as he reached us. I shook my head, "No worries, Jake was just telling me all sorts of embarrassing stories about you." I told him, trying to contain my smile, but Jimmy somehow knew I was joking, "That's it, Jake, you're fired." He said, sarcastically, gesturing for us all to follow him. "Will you still buy me lunch though?" Jake asked, and Jimmy nodded, "That's fine then, I'll tell her some more whilst we're there." He joked, and Jimmy stuck his tongue out at him. He was adorable, and he most definitely caught me smiling at him, because he gave me the biggest smile back.
The car ride was just as eventful as it was the day before, with Chandler being himself, and causing absolute chaos in any which way he could, even if it was just by cracking jokes that only he seemed to understand. Jimmy had explained that Chandler didn't really like to be confined to one place, and that he was loaded with energy almost all the time. I loved it, I couldn't imagine there ever being a dull moment with him around. "So where are we going?" I asked Jimmy, "Just a burger joint, they do ground steak patties though, and they are to die for." He told me, "You'll love it." He flashed me a wink. I loved burgers, but I knew full well that even if I didn't, I'd never tell Jimmy. I couldn't imagine disappointing him, it would break my heart, even over something so trivial.
We arrived at the place, and it looked like your average american diner. Jimmy looked like a kid on Christmas as we pulled into the parking lot. Excitedly jumping out of the car as soon as he could, Chandler quickly following suit, and Jake and I meandered after them. He'd told me that he'd not been here before, and wasn't quite sure what to expect. Chandler ran back over to us, after having reached the door and realized that we weren't right behind them. He grabbed both mine and Jake's hand and dragged us towards the diner. Jimmy held the door open for us all, "You guys go and find a booth, I'll get us all drinks." He said, and Chandler dragged us over to the far corner or the building, before I even had a chance to say "Okay".
The booth was your typical set up, two fake leather bench type things, on either side of a metal table. Jake and Chandler sat on one side, not that Jake had any say in the matter, as Chandler practically forced him into the seat next to him, leaving me on the other side, soon to be joined by Jimmy. "You're going to love this place." Chandler said, "They have the best mac and cheese ever, and you can put it on top of your burger." He explained, excitement plastered across his face. He handed me a menu, and I eagerly took it from him, looking at all of the choices laid out in front of me. "I think I'll keep it simple, I had a big breakfast this morning." I said to him. He nodded, eyes darting all over the menu in front of him. Jimmy arrived at the table, two drinks in hand, followed by a server with the other two drinks. "Coke for Chandler, Diet coke for Jake." He said, handing the boys their drinks. He took a seat next to me, and the server placed mine and Jimmy's drinks in front of us. "I forgot to ask what you wanted, so I just got you the same as me." He told me, looking a little bit bashful. "That's okay, what is it?" I asked, looking at the thick red drink in front of me. Jimmy laughed, "It's a berry smoothie, it tastes like summer." He told me, drinking almost a quarter of the glass through the straw in less than a second. I took a little sip, and was amazed by how delectable it was. I was expecting it to taste fake, almost like the berry flavoring you get in sweets, but this was amazing. "Wow." I said, and Jimmy's expression lit up. "Thank you." I told him. "No worries." He winked, "So what are we having? I'll probably just have a burger, I had a big breakfast." He said, and I saw Chandler's eyes dart up from over the menu, quickly looking at both Jimmy and I, before smirking slightly.
We ordered our food, and it arrived quite quickly, Jimmy and Chandler both looked at Jake and I, waiting for our reaction over the burgers. I felt extremely awkward taking a bite, it wasn't the best food for making people look attractive, but I knew the only way to get them to stop looking was to just go for it. I took the smallest bite I could, and just like the smoothie, it was amazing. "Wow again." I said, and Jimmy gave me the biggest shit-eating grin he could. "I told you so." He said, before taking a bite of his own. "So Y/N," Chandler said, food stuffed in his mouth. He took his time in swallowed his food, and then continued, "Where did you get up to in the video?" He asked. I smiled down at my food, refusing to make eye contact with anyone, "I'm at the part where Jimmy had just called me cute."
I heard slight coughing next to me, almost as if Jimmy had just choked on his food, Chandler and Jake, however, just laughed at their friend, whilst a huge smile appeared on my face.
