Emily's pov

"Valerie, I can't go. I have a lot of work to do," I scolded as I looked up at her frowning face.

"Come on, Em. Kyle already bought tickets," Val says with a sly smirk on her face.

"Tell Kyle that he should ask someone else," I said as I looked down at my now almost done sketch.

"Emily," Val whined as she tugged on my wrist, making me groan in annoyance. "Come on. You have been working for the entire week. A break from all this is seriously something you need," she said as she kept on pulling my wrist.

"You know, if I didn't know you at all, I would have thought that you were five," I stated, earning a huff from Val followed by a light slap on my arm, making me chuckle.

"Please, Emily. We only have so much time left before Kyle, and I get married and go on holiday. We have to enjoy the time we have left together," she said with a pouty face.

"Fine," I caved and closed my binder with all the sketches in them before getting up from my chair, grabbing my handbag and following Emily towards the front door.

"Amanda, I'll be out for a few hours. Are you going to be able to run things while I'm gone?" I asked my assistant.

"Of course, I will. This wouldn't be the first time you left me to run the shop," she said, making me chuckle and nod my head before walking out of the shop and towards Kyle's car, where I saw him and Val making out.

"God you guys. No one needs to see the tongue," I said, making them pull away, both of them blushing crazy.

"Nice seeing you too, Emily," Kyle said with fake sarcasm as he engulfed me in a hug.

"Whatever," I said as I pulled away from him with a smile on my face.

"Well then, let's go before we're late," Kyle said as he opened Val's door for her and got into the driver's seat as I took place in the back.

The crowd roared as the basketball player shot the last goal for the night, making them win as per usual.

"That was such a great win," Kyle exclaimed as we all got into the car.

"Yeah," I mumbled, not paying attention since I'm typing away on my phone.

"So, when's your friend coming again?" I heard Val ask as Kyle pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road.

"He's already here, but he's busy with his restaurant and everything," I heard Kyle answer.

The rest of the ride consisted of Kyle and Val talking and me working on my phone with Val scolding at me now and then because I was working.

"Thank you guys," I said as I got out of the car and shut the door behind me.

"Night, Em" I heard the two of them yelling at the same time, me waving at them as they drove off.

Once I opened the door to my house, I immediately walked up the stairs to my bedroom. I slowly walked in and instantly walked over to my dresser, where all my pajamas were in. I quickly grabbed a random pair and walked over to my bed, placing them on it and slowly stripping out of my clothes.

Once I was finished, I threw my clothes into the hamper and slowly crawled in under my bed, and snuggled up to all my pillows and closing my eyes and instantly falling asleep.
