Emily's Pov

"I can't believe you dragged me here," I roared as I helped Valerie with the towels and bags.

"Hey, it's not my fault you said yes," she defended, making me roll my eyes.

"So, it's just gonna be us, right?" I asked, and I instantly furrowed my eyebrows when she let out a nervous chuckle.

"You see, about that......" She trailed off. "Uhm, Kyle and Luke may be joining us," she said as we started walking.

"After everything, I told you last night," I said, throwing my head back and letting out a frustrated groan.

"Come to one, Emily, you have to move on from the past," she said.

"I know," I mumbled as we stopped- Val looking around the beach before a wide smile appears on her face, and she started running away from me.

I sighed before I started walking a few feet behind her. Once I've finally reached our destination, I saw Luke, Kyle, and Val caught up in their conversation.

Slowly. I set everything onto the sand before throwing my towel open and standing on top of it.

I quickly put my hair into a messy bun before I sigh and start pulling my shirt over my head, soon followed by my jean shorts.

I slowly sat down on the towel before taking out my sunscreen from my bag and applying some to my arms, my stomach, and my legs.

I awkwardly shifted on the towel as I stretched my arms out behind me, trying to put some sunscreen on my back, but it was just completely hopeless.

"Need some help?" I heard that familiar voice say, making me look to the side and see Luke standing there with an amused expression on his face.

"Yes, please," I said softly as I moved on the towel so that I was laying on my stomach.

I hesitantly held the bottle of sunscreen out to Luke as he sat on his knees beside my waist.

Chills instantly ran down my spine as I felt the cold liquid being placed on my back.

My eyes slowly closed as I felt Luke's hands massage the lotion onto my back. His hands were magic. The way his hands would move to my sides then to my lower back, where he would gently rub it in.

I sighed as I suddenly felt Luke's touch disappearing from my skin, making me frown slightly and look to the side to see him already standing with a small smile on his lips.

"Thank you," I said as I gave him a smile making him grow even wider before he nods his head and started taking off his shirt.

I immediately turned my head away as I found myself staring at his tanned skin and amazing abs.

Luke's Pov

I let out a deep sigh when I started getting out of the water and heading back to our spot.

Once there, I immediately noticed that Emily wasn't there, and I couldn't help but furrow my eyebrows as my eyes move towards a cuddled up Kyle and Val.

"Have you guys seen Emily?" I asked as I picked up my towel from the sand before wrapping it around my waist.

"Last time we saw her, she was going to buy herself ice- cream," Valerie said.

"How long has she been gone?" I asked, confused.
"Probably about twenty minutes. Why?" Kyle asked with a smirk on his face.

"I'm just worried that something happened," I stated as I took a seat on the empty beach chair.

"She's a grown woman, Luke. She doesn't need a babysitter," Valerie said, making me sigh.

"I know," I mumbled as I stared in front of me at the blue ocean.

"Hey guys," I heard that angelic voice said, making me turn around with a smile on my face that soon faded when I saw someone with her. "You all remember Zander, right?" She asked.

"Of course," Valerie said excitedly as she and Kyle both greeted him before he and Emily took a seat on her towel, starting up their conversation.

"When did that happen?" I asked as I turned my head to look at Valerie and Kyle, who both shrugged.

"Doesn't she have a boyfriend?" I asked, confused, causing Valerie to start laughing like a maniac.

"Where would you get that idea?" She asked as her laughing finally came to a stop.

"Well, I saw her on a date with another guy the other day," I stated, causing Valerie to start laughing again.

"Man, that girl hasn't dated one person since we met her. Val over here keeps setting her up on blind dates," Kyle said.

"Yeah, if she had a boyfriend, I think the world would end due to a miracle like that. I don't think the girl will date someone for a while," she said suddenly in all seriousness as she looked at me, making me sigh.

"She told you, didn't she?" I asked, and she just nodded her head, making me ran my hand through my almost dry hair.

I slowly turned my head a little to see Emily and Zander both covered in ice-cream and laughing like they've known each other for years.

But the one thing that hurts is the fact that I want that to be me she's hanging out with. Me she's talking to like that. Me who she would tell jokes to.
And mostly I want her to be with me again.
