Emily's pov
"There is no way we're playing that," I stated as I shook my head to prove my point. "We're not teenagers anymore."
"Come on, Emily, it'll be fun," Valerie said as she pulled me down next to her. I shook my head and started getting up but was stopped when she suddenly planted herself on my lap.
"Get off, Valerie," I said as I tried pushing her off of me. Okay, either she is extremely heavy, or I am just fragile. "Valerie," I whined when she shifted on my lap.
"I'll get off when you agree to play with us," she stated as she crossed her arms over her chest like a little kid that didn't get the candy he wanted in the candy shop. I sighed as a yes, and she happily got off of my lap and sat back next to me. "Alright, I'll go first," she said as she spun the bottle in the middle. I sat there and looked at Luke since the bottle landed on him. "Truth or dare?"
"Truth," he replied, and I could see Valerie rolled her eyes out of the corner of my eye.
"What, according to you, is the weirdest place you have ever had sex in?" she asked, and my eyes grew wide at her question. I watched as Luke thought for a second before scrounging his nose up.
"A closet," he answered. How do you do it in a closet? I shook my head before looking at the bottle that was twirling in a circle before landing on Kyle. "Truth or dare?' Luke asked and started to think when Kyle said dare. I watched as he slowly got up before walking towards his stereo that was next to his TV. Animals filled the living room as he made his way back towards us. "I dare you to give us a strip show in sixty seconds." Kyle confidently stood up and walked to the middle of the living room. I watched as he slowly started to move his hips, and he pulled his black hoodie over his head. His hands moved slowly down his arms and towards his hips, where he grabbed his red t-shirt and started pulling it over his head, throwing it next to his hoodie. My eyes diverted from him and started focusing on my hands that were laid in my lap. Valerie's giggles and Luke's laughs were heard, and I slowly lifted my head. My eyes practically bulged out of their sockets when I took in the very naked guy standing there. I could feel my cheeks heat up in embarrassment as I looked away. My eyes caught the familiar brown ones of Luke's, and he gave me a smile followed by a chuckle when he noticed how red my face probably was.
"Alright" Kyle said as he took his seat next to Valerie, only sitting there in his t-shirt and black boxers. Oh, my goodness. "Emily," he suddenly said, and my head snapped towards him. "Truth or dare?"
"Truth," I mumbled, receiving a scoff from Valerie. I watched as a smirk tugged at her lips before she leaned in a whispered something to Kyle. He slowly shook his head, but soon after nodded when Valerie gave him the puppy dog look.
"If you were to receive a sex toy as a gift, what would you prefer?" My eyes widened, and I swallowed a lump that had found its way into my throat.
"I don't even know what sex toys you get," I stated.
"Well, there's a-" she started, but soon I cut her off.
"None," I said as I scrunch up my nose in disgust.
"You have to pick one Emily," she said as she scolded at me. I vigorously shook my head. "Either you choose, or you have to go skinny dipping," she stated, and my eyes widened.
"I'm not doing either of those," I stated. "I'm done playing this game," I huffed as I stood up and walked towards the kitchen. I instantly walked towards the fridge and opened it up. I scanned over each and every item before grabbing a Coke. I closed the fridge again and walked towards the kitchen island. I pushed myself onto it and slumped forward. I honestly never imagined Valerie be the kind of person to play this game as dirty as she just did. How on earth is someone like me friends with her?
"You look lonely" I heard that low, husky voice says from behind me. I could feel a smile tug at the corners of my lips, but I refrained from showing it. Footsteps were heard, and the next thing I knew, Luke was standing in front of me. "I'm sorry for back there," he said as he nodded his head towards the living room. I shrugged my shoulders and to a sip of my Coke. A tingly sensation shot through my arm when Luke pushed himself onto the kitchen island, his hand briefly touching mine.
"What time is it?" I asked softly.
"It's just past ten," he answered, and I just nodded my head. I sighed as I stared out the kitchen window. "Why did you and Zander break up?" he suddenly asked. My head snapped in his direction, and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"It doesn't matter anymore," I mumbled as I stared at the nearly empty can in my hand.
"Did you love him?" he softly asked.
"No," I replied without even thinking. It's strange, but the break up didn't also affect me. I knew I would never love him, but for some reason, I didn't want to believe it. I always thought that I would fall in love again after Luke, but I never did.
"Good," I heard him say. My eyebrows furrowed as I stared at him. "I mean, uh...." He trailed off I couldn't help but smile at him. For some reason, I liked the idea of him saying that. I knew I still had feelings for him, and I'm pretty sure they won't go away real soon.
