Emily's Pov

Today's the day I go back to work.

The doctor had said a week, but my ribs have been feeling better, so I decided to go back a couple of days earlier than he had advised.

Luke, on the other hand, has been denying me going. I eventually made it up to him by saying I'd call him if anything were to happen. He wearily agreed to the idea and told me that he would go back to work as well since I didn't need help anymore.

"Hey Amanda," I said as I walked into the wedding dress parlor. She immediately ran up to me and hugged me so hard I swear I couldn't breathe.

"Oh my god, Emily!" and she hugs a little tighter. "How are you? Where have you been? Why are you early coming back? Not that I care-"

I quickly cut her off. "I'm good, at home, and because I didn't want to be kept at home any longer." She smiles and says she's happy to see my back.

I got my bag out and took out my sketchbook of wedding dresses. While I was out, I took the time to finish the drawings since I had so much free time.

The day goes on, and it's about noon when the door opens, making the bell ring. I was in the back, getting something for a customer when Amanda came back and told me someone was here to see me.

"Who is it?" I asked. "You'll see," she says, smiling and walking away.

I smile and go back out to the front to give the customer the item she had requested and helped her put it on for her to show her family sitting there.

They all smiled, and the bride's mother even tears up, saying she loves it. "I love this dress." the bride says through her tears.

I smile and ask, "Is this the dress?" she smiles even larger and nods. All her family gets up to hug her, and I step back to look at the scene happening before me.

I can't help but think if this will ever be me in the future. Hopefully, with the one I love. Maybe that person is Luke. Waking up to him, having kids... no, I can't even think about kids right now. I'm still a kid. But later in life, yeah, that would be amazing to have. Luke's eyes and my hair.

I was then broke out of my thoughts as the bride and her family was looking at me. "Sorry. Let's get you out of the dress now." I say with a smile.

Once done with her, I go to the front where the mystery person was that was waiting. I turn the corner, and I see the mop of hair I left this morning.

"Luke?" I ask. He turns, and I smile as he does the sane. He walks towards me and kisses me lightly, catching me off guard. I pull away and look at him. "Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here?" I laugh lightly.

He chuckles and says, "Well, I thought that I would take you to lunch?"

"Oh yeah, that sounds great," I say.

"Shall we go then?" he asks, and I smile and nod.

"Amanda, I'm going to lunch!" I yell, and I hear a brief okay before walking out of the building.

Luke and I had a great time at lunch. He took me back to work, and I finished the day with a sale of 4 dresses. All of the brides were immensely happy and thanked me numerous times.

When I got home, however, Luke wasn't there, so I took a shower and made myself some dinner.

When I sat on the couch to eat, Luke walked in with flowers in a vase. He stopped short to kiss me on the side of my heads and went to the kitchen, no doubt, to put the flowers in a jar.

I got up and followed him and look at the flowers. "Are these for me?" I asked.

"Actually, yes, they are." he said, "For your first day back to work."

I smile up at him and hug him tight. "Thank you, Luke. For everything. I don't know what I would do without you." I say.

He leans down and kisses me lightly before saying, "So want to cuddle and watch Netflix?"

"You know me so well," I laugh.

He picks me up, and I squeal as he hits my butt and laughs before tossing me lightly on the bed and turning Netflix on the television.

I immediately curl into his side and watch the movie he put on. Sooner than later, I hear snores coming from Luke. Looking up at him, I smile and turn off the TV and curl into his side again. He pulls me closer to him, draping his arm over my waist, and I smile lightly before shutting my eyes and letting sleep take over.
