I was sitting with my usual people at the table again. Violet came in, looking rough. Her hair was tangled, there was dark bags under her eyes, and her shirt was hung loosely off her shoulders.
"Violet, Are you okay?" I rushed towards her.
"I'm fi-fine." She cracked. I hugged her tightly.
She sobbed into my shoulder a little bit, Maggie came up, rubbing her back.
"Same thing again babe?"
"Yeah. I haven't been able to sleep because of it." Violet pulled away, wiping her eyes.
"Things will get better." I said softly. "I'm here if you need to talk to me."
"Thank you."
Maggie led Violet away to their table and I took a seat.
"I feel so bad for her." Luke said.
I agreed with him, changing subjects with him. "Michael and I are friends again."
He suddenly got hyped up. "Thats fantastic! Have you talked to Calum yet?"
Guilt and sadness emerged from inside me. Calum was my best friend and not talking to him kind of sucked. "No. We're not speaking terms anymore."
"He'll come around sooner or later."
"I hope." I sighed. "I haven't asked about you lately. How are you."
He smiled at me. "I'm fine, they think I'll be able to get out within nine months or less."
"If you get out then you better take me with you. I can fit in your suitcase." I winked.
Luke laughed. "I might do it..You up for a game of chess?" He stood up,walking over to an empty table, grabbing the board game.
I looked at the chess board then at him then back again. "You are so on, are you ready to loose?"
"In your dreams Sharp."
"No in your nightmares, thats why you wake up sweating because you dream of me beating you. Its your worst."
He scoffed. "As if. I can beat you any day."
"Want to make a bet." I smirked.
I wasn't planning on loosing this game so Luke could do what ever he wanted. I was going to kick his sorry but in Chess.
He tapped his chin lightly with his fingers. "If you loose you must apologize to Calum and become friends again."
"Fair enough." I nodded. "If YOU loose, which you will.. You must kiss Michael."
"No freaking way! I'm not gay. No deal."
"I guess I win by default."
I looked away dramatically, knowing Luke couldn't live with me winning.
"Fine fine but I'm adding on to my part of the bet. You must talk to Calum AND kiss Chris."
My face mortified into disgust.
KISS CHRIS. THE CHRIS. THATS WORSE THAN THE BET I GAVE HIM. Its not that Chris is disgusting or ugly but the thought of my lips on his is. I shudder at the thought but with any bet, I'll pull through.
"Fine.." I trailed off.
Luke out his hand. "So we have a deal?" I shook it gladly. "Yes. Deal."
We began playing and within five minutes I was losing. Okay its time to fess up, I can't play to save my life but I didn't want Luke to have the satisfaction of me losing.
"HA YOU SO LOST!"
"No no no." I cried, holding the chess board close to my heart. "It didn't happen. I won."
"Come on Mac. We made a bet now go do it."
"Okay okay I'm gonna do it." I groaned and stood up. "But I'm doing the first part right now."
"I'll be waiting, toodles!" He grinned.
I walked out of the room mumbling cuss words trying to find my familiar friend.
"Calum!" I said once seeing him. He smiled lightly.
"Mac, hey I'm sorry." He apologized.
"No I am. I should've just listened to you. You were right about Michael."
"So friends again.. I miss you."
"Of course." He hugged me.
When we pulled away, we began walking down the hall. "Have you thought about Violet?" I nudged him. Cal shrugged, blushing a tiny bit.
"Yeah. I like her and I want to give her a chance."
"Thats great!" I beamed.
We end up stopping at the recreational room. "Not to be rude or anything but I think I'm going to go talk to her.
"Get some booty Cal!" I cheered as he walked in.
My matchmaking skills were finally a success now to go kiss Chris.
