Maggie somehow managed to get Gregory to agree to the deal, accept there was a catch. He would only give you half of your deal and the other half you would get once the Saviours were dead, but it was better than nothing.
Jesus and the man with the broken arm decided to come with you back to Alexandria. Jesus because he wanted to help and the man with the broken arm, you needed him. He knew the details and location of Negan's compound and you needed that information.
When you got back to Alexandria, Rick held a meeting in the church with the whole group to explain the situation.
"Now, sooner or later, they would've found us, just like those Wolves did, just like Jesus did. They woulda killed someone or some of us and then they would try to own us and we would try to stop them. But by then, in that kind of fight, low on food, we could lose. This is the only way to be sure, as sure as we can get that we win, and we have to win." Rick explained, his eyes scanning the room as he spoke.
You smiled softly, proud of how much of a leader he had become since those days back in King County were he still a rookie fresh from the police academy and trying to help you and your brothers fight a nest a vampires.
"We do this for the Hilltop, it's how we keep this place. It's how we feed this place. This needs to be a group decision. If anybody objects, here's your chance to say your piece." Rick added, glancing down at you and Daryl from where you were sitting in the front row of the church.
You glanced around the room, just waiting for someone to try and say that it was a bad idea because. It was dirty, killing these people in their sleep and it didn't sit well with you. But, they are controlling Hilltop, they killed a kid from Hilltop just to make a point and hell, Daryl, Sasha and Abraham had apparently ran into some of them on the road and nearly died. It was only a matter of time before these people found Alexandria, you had to strike first.
"You're sure we can do it? We can beat them?" Morgan asked and you glanced over your shoulder towards the man who was sitting at the back of the room and you could tell by the look on his face that he did not like this plan.
"What this group has done, what we've learned, what we've become, all of us, yes, I'm sure." Rick reassured.
"Then all we have to do is just tell them that." Morgan suggested, but Rick shook his head.
"Well, they don't compromise."
"This isn't a compromise. It's a choice you give them. It's a way out, for them and for us." Morgan tried to argue.
"If we try and talk to the Saviours, we give up our advantage and our safety. We have to come for them before they come for us." Rick explained and you nodded turning your seat slightly to stare at Morgan.
"We can't leave them alive." You said, speaking up for the first time during the whole conversation.
"Y/N, is right, but Morgan want's to talk to them first. I think that would be a mistake, but it's not up to me. I'll talk to the people still at home and on guard now, but who else wants to approach the Saviours, talk to them first?" Rick asked, looking around the room, but nobody said anything.
"Looks like it's settled. We know exactly what this is. We don't shy from it, we live. We kill them all. We don't all have to kill, but if people are gonna stay here they do have to accept it." Rick stated, his eyes focusing on Morgan as he spoke before everyone nodded in agreement.
Well, at least most of the people of Alexandria knew that this was the only way, it was the only way to ensure the communities safety.
Jesus and the guy with the broken arm helped you guys construct a plan of attack and drew out maps of the Saviours compound, telling you everything they knew about the place.
