No, that couldn't be real. Carl couldn't die, he was just a kid. This couldn't be happening.

Nobody said anything.

Everyone just stared at the bite mark until Carl covered it back. Judith started squirming in his arms causing Carl to wince and Daryl quickly picked her up.

"Thanks." The kid replied with a small smile, looking up at Daryl who was now standing up, resting Judith on his hip.

"What do we do?" Tara asked helplessly, standing up as she glanced over at the rest of you.

"Nothing. It's over for me, I know it is. It's okay." Carl simply replied, but you just shook your head fighting the tears starting to rise in your eyes.

"It's not okay." You whispered, thinking back to the first time you met him.

He was just a little boy. Barely six years old, running around the Sheriff's station while you and your brothers talked with Rick about the missing people. He was so small, so innocent, he didn't deserve this.

Carl looked over at you, his eyes flashing down to your stomach and you knew the fabric around the wound was now starting to get soaked with blood, but you didn't give a shit right now.

"You're not healing?" Carl asked, his voice weaker than usual.

You just shook your head, not trusting your voice at the moment.

Healing.

You might be able to heal him.

"Rosita, Tara, move back." You quickly instructed.

Both women stepped away in confusion before you crouched down in front of him with a wince, grabbing your stomach at the sharp pain the movement caused.

"Y/N..." Daryl trailed off, realising what you were going to do.

Carl was still staring at you in confusion, clearly having no idea what you were going to try before you lifted his shirt and rested your hand over the bandage.

"I don't know if this will work." You warned, closing yours as you took a deep breath before you opened your eyes, feeling flecks of purple shining through them.

You tilted your head up to look up at Carl, your purple eyes locking with his brown ones. Carl gave you a small nod before you turned your attention back to the bite and used your powers.

Purple flames came from your palm as you hovered your hand over the bandage and used your powers.

In all honestly, you had no idea if you could heal a bite with your full powers, let alone with your powers not working properly. But, you were going to try.

Nobody spoke and you could feel all their eyes on you, but you kept your attention on the bite mark, your hand hovering above it.

It didn't take long before your head started to thump in pain and for the familiar feeling of blood dripping from your nose to start. The pain of your gunshot wound completely forgotten as you squeezed your eyes shut in pain.

Your hand was trembling over the bite mark as you dropped to your knees, your other hand resting on the ground, stopping yourself from falling over as you bit your lip to stop yourself from crying out in pain.

For a moment you thought you were going to pass out, as you opened your eyes and everything was spinning.

"Stop. You're hurting yourself." Carl said, but you barely heard him above the ringing in your ears as you continued to use your powers.

Suddenly, Carl's hand grabbed yours and he pulled it away.

"Stop. It's okay. Y/N, it's okay." He repeated softly as you fell backwards, gasping for breath on your hands and knees.
