Monday morning, Molly and I were at my locker talking about the substitute for biology. My day started out well, until Jax came up to us. "Hey, Mia? Can I talk to you real quick?"

Molly looked at me and raised an eyebrow. I nodded at her and she walked off, leaving me with Jax. "Sure. What's up?" I asked.

"Listen Mia, I know what happened with you and James."

I froze. "A lot of people know."

He sighed and brushed his hair away from his face. "Yeah, well, I didn't. And the rest of the guys don't, know even Daniel. I know we aren't that close, and we only really met three days ago, but I'm here for you okay? If he ever bothers you, I'll take care of it. Daniel really cares about you; I'm not saying you have to, but maybe you should tell him."

I stared at the floor. "How did you find out? Who told you?"

He chuckled a little. "Uh-When I meet new people, I have a tendency to do a background check on them. I know some people and they check up on them. I did it on Friday when I met you and when the movie ended they called back. That's when I found out."

I nodded. I shut my locker and pulled my backpack onto my shoulder. "Well, let's get to Math, shall we?" He gave me a half-hearted smile and nodded.

"We shall."

As I went to throw out my drink, my body slammed into another, causing the red liquid to splatter all over them. "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" I gasped.

"You stupid bitch! You ruined my clothes!" May screeched.

"Honestly! I didn't mean to! It was an accident!"

She screamed and stomped off. Her followers trailing behind. Most of the cafeteria were giggling quietly while the others didn't care. Andrew, Charlie, and Molly were laughing the loudest. Daniel smirked and when our eyes met, he winked. I felt my cheeks heat up and I smiled at him. I scanned his table. He and James were the only two there. But James typed away angrily at his phone. I wondered were the rest of them were and walked back to my friends.

As I made my way to the gym, hands grabbed me from behind and dragged me backwards. A hand covered my mouth while I screamed. I found myself in the girls bathroom surrounded by May and her girls. Two of them held my arms, so tight their nails dug into my skin. "What-why did you pull me in here?" I asked. May grinned evilly and smacked my face. I gasped, as she's never done that before.

"Shut up!" She growled. "I'm warning you: stay away from Daniel."

My eyebrows scrunched together. "What? I can't-" she slapped my face again.

"You can and you will."

"No! I won't!" I shouted. The girls that were holding my arms pulled me down so I was kneeling on the floor. May came up to me and grabbed my hair, forcing me to look at her.

"You will, because if you don't, you'll regret it. I'll ruin everything for you. So you might as well end your petty relationship before I do. Because when I do it, he'll hate you from then on." She spat and then kneed my face, making my head bounce back. My arms were freed and I laid on the cold tiled floor, holding my bloody nose. A foot came in contact with my stomach and I groaned. "Take my advice, whore. Keep away from Danny or you'll have it out for yourself. You don't know what you're getting into; you most certainly don't know who you're messing with." Her and her troops marched out. I just laid there.

----

As soon as my nose stopped bleeding, I went to gym. Well, what was left of it anyways. Class was almost over, so I just sat and watched the volleyball game. Daniel was doing great. He was extremely focused on the ball.

His eyes met mine and he smiled...but stopped. He continued the game angrily and when it was over, he came over to me. "What happened to your face!?" He shouted. A couple people looked over but then continued with their lives.

"What do you mean? Is there something on it?" I felt around until I realized he was talking about my swollen nose and red cheek. "Oh, that...um well, I was walking here and I wasn't paying any attention, so some kid accidentally slammed a door on my face..." I rambled.

"An it just so happened to hit you nose and your face?" He questioned.

I nodded. "Yeah... Um when the door hit my nose I fell and that's when I hit my face...on the floor?" I said unsure.

He raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?" I nodded. "Are you lying to me?" I averted my gaze to the floor as he stood in front of me. I stayed silent. "Mia? Did someone do that to you?" Hesitantly, I nodded. "Will you tell me-" he was cut off by the warning bell.

I took that as a chance to grab my books and run. I didn't want to cause problems. Besides, if I tell Daniel, he'll go straight to May. My problems will be multiplied, and I honestly don't need any more issues.
