I finished off the class with a smile on my face. Next period was the last, and I had it with Daniel. As the bell rang, I gathered my belongings and rushed to get up, only to be shoved back down.
"Well if it isn't little miss Mia. Where do you think you're going?"
He smirked.I rolled my eyes and went to stand up again. He only slammed me back down into my chair, causing everyone who was left in the room to look over. Just as the teacher went to step in, someone growled from the other side of the room. "James! I'll give you five seconds to get away from her before I kick your sorry ass into hell!" Tanner stomped over. He began to count down.
James raised an eyebrow and turned towards me. "You aren't always going to have your bodyguards to protect you Mia. What will happen when you don't?" Just as Tanner got to one, James pushed past him and walked out the door.
"You okay?" Tanner asked. I nodded. He stared at me for a moment then he smiled. "I think you should go to your next class. Daniel's waiting." He winked and bursts into laughter as I blushed and ran out the door.
I ran all the way down the hall and down the stairs to the first floor. Once I stepped into the classroom, the bell rang. Everyone watched as the door accidentally slammed shut and I panted in front of the room.
My face was red with embarrassment as I trudged my way to my seat. As soon as I sat down next to Daniel, he smiled. "Hey." I returned the smile and put my bag underneath my desk. "Do you want to go out after school?"
I looked at him from underneath my hair. "Today?"
He chuckled and shook his head. "No next week. Yes, Mia, today."
I blushed, which I seem to be doing a lot of today. "Okay... Daniel?"
"Yes, love?"
I laughed. "So you're English now?" I joked and laughed as he face-palmed. "But um.... are we, you know, I-uh... are we a thing?"
He turned to face me in amusement. His eyebrow was raised and the corners of his mouth rose upwards. "A thing?"
"Yeah... a thing. Like a thing-thing." I sort-of explained and he laughed.
"If you're talking about the "thing" I'm thinking of then, yes. We are. Of you're talking about boyfriend and girlfriend, then no." I stated abruptly.
I frowned, awkwardly. I knew he felt the same way I did, I just guess not EXACTLY the same way. I shuffled in my seat unsure of what to say. "Mia?" He placed his hand on my shoulder and I turned to face him. He was smiling. "We aren't boyfriend and girlfriend yet, because I'm taking things slow. I don't want to rush into things and make you uncomfortable. Plus, I want to ask you out the right way." He tapped my nose and turned away from me.
Did I mention I was blushing??
