The rest of the time spent in the infirmary passed painfully slow. Law stayed civil with you when he'd check up on you but that was about it. You would have died from boredom if it wasn't for some of the crew bringing you books or stopping by to keep you company if they weren't busy.
One of the most annoying things about everything was your lack of clothes. The only other woman on the ship, Ikkaku, tried to find things to fit you but her clothes were too big. She was taller than you and bustier, so everything just hung off of you. You had better luck borrowing things from Penguin. Of course he loved it. It made you wish for your own wardrobe.
You were excited to have gotten the okay from Law to be able to be up and moving again. At least until he led you to the kitchen and handed you a toothbrush. You looked at the toothbrush and back at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Um, thanks?"
"There's a bucket over there for water." He grinned widely and you felt your heart drop. "I want you to clean the floor with that. Have it done by noon."
"I'm assuming you're still annoyed about that argument?"
"Not annoyed, just proving a point." He sauntered off as you seethed.
You finally had the chance to get up and move around only to be stuck on your hands and knees with a bucket of soapy water, cleaning the floors with a fucking toothbrush. As much as it made you angry, it did make you think twice about what came out your mouth around him, even if you still felt you were right.
A few people came in while you worked. But each time they'd see you cursing and shooting glares in their direction they'd leave, not keen on irritating you more. Overall, the ship was kept clean, but the kitchen floors must get dirty fast. By the time you finished you felt grimy and the floor had turned a whole shade lighter. It's like all the dirt transferred to you instead.
The kitchen smelled faintly of soap and the floors were now pristine. If Law didn't like it you'd lose your shit. It was probably the cleanest area in the ship now. Might as well go find him now, you finished with a bit of time to spare and hopefully he'd leave you alone once he decided the job was done well enough.
The problem was, even though you'd been living here for a couple weeks, you hadn't had the chance to explore and had no idea where anything was. Your best option was to go back to the infirmary and see if he was there by chance. You padded around the ship, wishing for a pair of boots or something to keep your feet warm.
The infirmary was empty unfortunately, with no signs of him stepping foot in it since that morning. You could try looking for someone and see if they knew where he'd be but you weren't sure where anyone worked. Wandering was your best option, you were bound to run into someone along the way and it gave you a chance to figure out the layout of the ship as well.
Moseying around the ship, you were able to figure out were most things were. The kitchen and dining room were connected, all the living quarters were close to the infirmary along with the shared bathrooms. Down a floor was were you started finding people doing maintenance on the submarine and weapons. You were happy to find Penguin and Shachi bickering back and forth over some machinery.
"Hey guys." You chirped.
"Hey (N/n), what did you do to my clothes?" Penguin asked, noticing how dirty you were.
"I got put to work doing some cleaning." You tugged at the hem of the shirt. "Where am I supposed to find the captain? I wanted to let him know I finished."
"He's probably with Bepo at the helm. I can take you to them." He volunteered. "We can stop by the living quarters and get you a change of clothes while we're at it."
