Chapter 24

3 Months later......

It was May, The month when O.W.L's are taken. The fifth years would find themselves hyperventilating ( Those like Evelyn ), and you would see others go in there groaning ( Those like Nicole ). Over the past three months, Evelyn would find herself an unfortunate witness to the snogging sessions between Black and McKinnon. She didn't care if they did it, but when they are grinding and all that shit- in public! It makes her want to hurl!

It seemed wherever she went they were always there! She would occasionally see Sirius peeking over Marlene's shoulder to see if Evelyn was watching, but those weren't the only times she would catch him looking at her. She would catch his eyes looking at her during classes, before and during classes, and at Quidditch matches.

It was unnerving, until one day it finally clicked, He was trying to make her jealous. That bastard! Marlene- was she in on it... of course, she wasn't. She wouldn't do that, McKinnon had more dignity than that. Sirius was just using her.

Evelyn didn't like Marlene at all, but she didn't hate her- and no one deserves to be used in that manner.

Evelyn and Nicole were walking down a deserted corridor when they heard voices, " Oi Snivellus!" it sounded like James. Evelyn's curiosity perked she sped up, Nicole tried to grab her arm, but a confused Evelyn shook it off.

" Evelyn come on-" What Evelyn saw made her sick. Severus Snape didn't say anything, but continued, and ignored James as he taunted and jibed at him. " Did all that grease clog up your ears Snivellus?"

Snape glared at him but continued, Remus and Peter were nowhere to be seen, but Sirius was there laughing.

" Locomotor Wibbly!" James shouted, pointing his wand at Snape. Snape fell to the ground and the items in his bag fell to the ground. Sirius and James laughed as Snape made a feeble attempt to get up, but it ended with him falling.

Evelyn felt sick, she recognized this scene too well. She remembered her old self. Evelyn Marie Boswell who always had her hazel eyes on the ground and her long, straight dirty blonde hair acting as a curtain to shield her face from the dirty looks of her peers. Girls and boys alike would shove her down, slap her things out of her hands, write on her locker, taunt and tease her.

Many nights she would come home crying, she would run up the stairs and lock herself in her room. Suicide would cross her mind, but the only thing that would stop her was her cowardice.

James barked a laugh and undid the jinx. " Now run along Snivellus." He said. Snape accused his paper and ran off. Sirius barked a laugh as he ran off.

" James!" Evelyn gasped. She felt a lump in her throat, and tears burning in the back of her eyes.

James and Sirius turned toward Evelyn in surprise, " Evelyn?" James asked, hoping she didn't see what just happened.

Evelyn felt a tear run down her face, " How could you do something so disgusting!" She yelled. James was frozen in place, he didn't know what to do, but before he could say anything Evelyn spun around on her heel and ran off.

Nicole watcher her go with an aching heart, Nicole looked at the two teens in disgust, " Karma's a bitch." She said before running after Evelyn.

Sirius felt something in his stomach, as did James. The two boys didn't know it, but it was shame.

Evelyn didn't know where she was going, all she knew was she had to get away from there. Everyone was either at study hall, outside or in their common rooms. The halls were deserted except for one person, and Evelyn crashed into them when she turned down a corridor.
