Evelyn looked at herself in the mirror and sighed through her nose,' Was it too much?' she asked herself as she added a shimmery eye shadow to her lid. She had left her lips their natural soft pink color, only putting a gloss on. Her hair was pulled up in a low elegant bun, her curls were made loose and framed her face.
Nicole wore a fitted black dress that went to about mid-thigh and she paired it 70's platform heels.
" You look beautiful," Evelyn said looking at her friend.
Nicole turned to her and smiled slightly, " So do you,"
Stacey came in fanning herself with a piece of parchment," Merlin! I'm sweating like a bloody pig!" she yelled.
" Who're you going with Stace?" Nicole asked.
Stacey smiled," Remus Lupin- as friends of course."
" I didn't know you two were friends," Evelyn said with a small smirk.
Stacey nodded," Well he helped me out in Transfiguration, and it just happened."
Evelyn smiled," Well you look very pretty." Stacey played with the hem of her purple dress," Thanks." she mumbled.
Nicole sighed and looked at the clock, " We should go now." Evelyn looked at herself one last time, fixed her , and they left.
!
Sirius said he was going to meet her outside of the Entrance Hall," I'm going to go ahead, I'll see you soon," Nicole stated speeding up, Stacey behind her.
Evelyn didn't know why she was nervous, but she was. She stayed to the side and watched as people passed by with and without dates. She just wanted to get to Sirius. Soon she was alone in the hall and all that could be heard was the click of her heels against the ancient stone floors as she paced back and forth.
The brunette looked up and saw Sirius. He wore a standard black and white suit, accompanied with wizard robes. His hair was combed neatly to the sides, reminding Evelyn of his father almost, though she'd never tell him that. He looked handsome.
His silver eyes looked for her and she was about to walk over to him when she stopped herself, a wave of anxiety coming over her. She was not mentally prepared for this, she needed to get a grip on herself, this was Sirius, her boyfriend. He had seen her naked for Christ's sake.
With a deep breath she called out to him, making him spin around," Hey Ev-" the words died before they left his mouth.
She blushed," Uh is it to much?" she asked quietly. Sirius kept staring and Evelyn felt herself becoming more self-conscious by the minute. " It is isn't it? I'll be back soon-" she went to turn around but Sirius grabbed her wrist.
" No- you look fine- I mean you look good- I," he cleared his throat, and grabbed her chin and gently made her look up at him," You look beautiful."
Evelyn felt her blush deepen but she smiled, " Thank you." she whispered.
He smiled back," You ready?" he asked offering her his hand, and she took it.

" James! Slowdown!" Lily laughed as he twirled her. James was beyond happy, he was with Lily and his friends, the air was merry, everything was perfect. Everyone was happy, the hall seemed to exert joy.
James looked over to see Sirius dipping Evelyn. She threw her head back and laughed. It was still hard for him to believe, Sirius Black, the womanizer, the rebel, was falling in love. Sirius may not think so, but James could tell.
He could see it in his friend's eyes. He found it funny how different they were. Evelyn was soft, honey, and flowers. While Sirius was jagged edges, cigarettes, and leather. James didn't consider himself a sap, even if he was. It didn't take a genius to see they loved each other.

Evelyn and Sirius sneaked off before the ball ended and went out to the lake.
" Accio." Sirius whispered. Evelyn raised an eyebrow and was about to ask, but a camera came zooming into his open hand," I believe we need to fill up that scrapbook." he said. Evelyn smiled and lent against him. He extended his arm, there was a flash and the sound of the picture coming out. Sirius waved it and the blurry picture became clear.
Evelyn grabbed the camera from him," Oh what a lovely picture." she giggled. Sirius snatched the picture away from her and scoffed. In the picture his eyes were like saucers and his mouth was parted slightly. " It really is- 'cause I'm in it."
Evelyn sat the camera down and went up to Sirius and wrapped her arms around his neck," Were you being for real when you said you might love me?" she asked quietly.
Sirius placed his arms around her waist," Were you?"
She frowned slightly," I won't answer until you tell me, was it just the heat of the moment or..."
Sirius sighed," I..." Evelyn's frown deepened," You better tell me now, or I'll kick you in the balls."
" I was...I am." he said. Silver met russet. Evelyn smiled," I was too."
He laughed slightly, " Is it bad we haven't said it yet?"
She thought for a moment, " No, but I do think we're both a little scared to say it,"
" Well it is a big deal, when you say that... it's like giving up a piece of yourself,"
The brunette nodded, " Because you are, and I think you have to be totally sure before you give someone that part of yourself,"
He smiled and leaned in slightly, " I'll tell you when I'm ready then, Truelove," he whispered, placing a kiss on her forehead.
" Until then, Black," she murmured, her hand cupping his jaw, before placing a kiss on his lips.
Falling in love was something Evelyn had rarely thought about in all honesty, like she had told Sirius, it scared her as much as it scared him. Allowing someone that kind of power over you, and the fear of them leaving. The possibility of losing something so amazing.
But there was the chance that wouldn't happen, so maybe she would take the risk.
