Edwin flew down the stairs and to the front door, " It's snowing!" he yelled, eagerly pointing to the yard through the glass.

Evelyn laughed, " It does that here, Ed," she said while pouring a cup of coffee, " C'mon and eat breakfast,"

Nicole grinned, " Look at you Ev, as if you didn't act the exact same for the first two years you were here," she teased before stuffing a piece of bacon into her mouth.

Evelyn shrugged, " Whatever, we should all go out after breakfast, a snowball fight would be fun,"

Nicole nodded eagerly, " Okay but this time we get to build forts, I'm not going to let you get away with those sleazy tricks you pull,"

The brunette pursed her lips, " I just get a little excited," she muttered.

" A little?!" exclaimed Nicole, " Last year I almost lost my nose to frostbite, that reminds me, no snowballs to the face,"

Samson huffed a laugh behind his newspaper and Lindsey frowned," Why are you laughing Sam?" she asked pointedly.

He put the paper down and smiled, " Just thinking about how the apple doesn't fall far from the tree love,"

Like always Winter break was over, Edwin flew home, and Nicole and Evelyn went back to school. Evelyn couldn't believe she only had one more year of school. The past 5 years had flown by, and Evelyn didn't like it one bit. It felt like just yesterday she had met Nicole at the platform, it didn't feel like 5 years ago. There was the other thing too. Nicole and Evelyn had become slightly distant, they were still best friends but Nicole seemed to be with Marlene every hour of every day. Evelyn knew she didn't need to be at Nicole's side 24/7, but they just weren't as close as they used to. The problem was it didn't bother Evelyn that much.

Then there was Sirius, Evelyn did like him, but it wasn't as much as she would like to. She knew Sirius was handsome, anyone with eyes could see that. She liked his eyes, his dark hair, his strong nose, his jawline, he was fit too, she liked him- GETTING OFF TRACK. But that didn't really matter in the end, what mattered was who he is, his personality, how he treats others, etc. He had vastly improved in the ' treating others better' department, he was fun- all him and James did now was pulled harmless pranks. It was all a good laugh at the end.

She liked how his eyes crinkled when he really smiled, his laugh, she liked- him. But did she really know him that well? When they were together they were usually alone, how did she know if he was different around other people.

She didn't expect him to act like he was friends with everybody, but if he was the prick from last year? Evelyn didn't want to think about it. She'd just have to trust him.

Evelyn knew she was probably just overthinking, but she couldn't help it.

1977, a new year. It was January and the grounds were covered in snow, Evelyn having lived here for almost 6 years still wasn't used to the cold weather, she hated when it was cold, the only reason why was because it made her nose run, other than that she was fine with it. Where she used to live it only snowed maybe once every few years- unlike Scotland.

Evelyn was walking when she was suddenly hit by a snowball. She let out a shriek of surprise, then looked to see who threw it. Sirius was standing innocently whistling as if he didn't do anything.

Evelyn smirked, she took out her wand flicked it toward Sirius and pounds of snow flew his way. He shouted but was soon cut off by the snow he was now buried in.

Evelyn began laughing, so hard her stomach was starting to hurt. Sirius dug his way out of the snow mound shivering and glaring at Evelyn," S'not funny!" he huffed. Shaking his long hair as a dog would.
