Toby's POV

It's been a week since that little incident and Eli and Mali have been hanging over at our house 24/7. They mostly hang out with Riley and Thomas. Other times are with all of us or just Connor. Whenever they come over I always leave the room and go to my room. Tank is usually in my room so he keeps me company.

I am currently alone in the house watching SpongeBob in the living room while Riley and Connor are getting Starbucks. Tank came running to me, jumped on me, and laid on my lap as I petted him.

The doorbell rang and I was about to get up until I saw Tank asleep on me. I looked at the door and saw that it was unlocked, "IT'S OPEN!" I yelled.

The door opened and revealed Eli and Mali. "Hey Toby! Where are the other two? No, wait let me guess, Starbucks?" Eli crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.

"Yup. If you call now you might be able to get something." Then I saw through the open door Riley and Connor come up to the house. "Never mind," Connor and Riley stepped through the door and Riley handed me my coffee.

Tank woke up and ran over to Connor, who was sitting on the couch, and started licking his face. Now I can leave.

I walked up to my room and saw Eli standing in there looking at the pictures of me and Kat.

Eli's POV

Toby always leave the room whenever me and Mali come over. I want to know why. So while Tank was licking Connor's face I took this as my chance to go upstairs into Toby's room.

I looked around it still looked the same. Pictures on the walls, a desk, in the corner, bed in the center of the left wall, and his closet on the other side of the room next to the window.

I walked over to the pictures and saw the picture of the old me and Toby.

It was a photo of me and him at the beach a few weeks before all of this drama happened.

~Flashback~

"Toby where are you taking me?" Toby is currently pulling me everywhere at 8 in the morning until we got to the beach. "So you woke me up at 6:30 in the morning; made me get ready and stuff; stole my phone, so I would move; yanked me all over place, almost pulling my arm off in the process just so you can take me here?" I was really irritated by this boy.

I turned in my heel about to leave until he yanked me back. "I took you because this place is just for me and you. It is hidden behind those palm trees and flower bushes so no one ever sees it. No one knows about it except me and you." He tapped my nose and we just hung out in our little hideout, enjoying ourselves."

~End of Flashback~

I smiled at myself until someone cleared their throat. I turned around to find Toby, with his Starbucks in one hand and he was leaning on the door. "What are you doing in my room?"

"Sorry Toby, I just wanted to talk to you. You always ignore me and come up here, so I decided to wait for you to come up here and talk to you," I said as I looked down at my feet.

"Alright fine you want to know why I ignore you?" I nodded my head slowly as he put down his Starbucks onto his desk. "I ignore you because you bring out the past that I want to forget. A few months ago I lost my best friend because she died in a car accident when she moved to LA."

You don't know how much I want to go up to him and comfort him, tell him it's alright, tell him I'm still alive. But I can't. He would get mad at me. I hate it when he is mad at me. It breaks my heart if he ever gets mad at me. So I decided on saying this:

"Tell me what you thought of her. Your best friend."

Toby sighed and sat on his bed. He patted next to him as a gesture to sit down.

"She was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Even though sometimes she can be unpredictable, but I was crazy in love with her. I also never admitted that to her either. I don't know why she thinks she isn't special. I know she is special and I want her right here next to me so I can tell her all of these things." I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. My eyes are covered by a thin layer of tears because what he said.

Why was I so afraid back then? Why didn't I tell him my feelings before all of this happened?!

"Well if she was here right now she would be a perfect fit for you. And I think she would be tearing up like I am right because of what you said. Haha." I gave Toby a side hug and then I heard a group of people go, "awwww."

Both Toby and I lifted our heads to see Riley and Connor with a sweet look on their face and cover their hearts with both of their hands on top of each other. While Mali made a heart with her hands. Toby blushed deeply and so did I.

"How long have you guys been there," I questioned.

"Long enough to at least know Toby's feelings for Kat. Which is weird for you Eli because- OW!!" I looked at Mali because she just smacked Riley in the head and is now glaring at him.

"Because what bro?" I looked at Toby he was so confused.

"Haha never mind. I should leave this house before Mali and/or Eli come after me. See ya!" Riley said nervously. He then bolted out of the house with Mali on his tail. Connor and Toby looked at me with an eyebrow raised.

"Hahaha well this has been interesting. I an going to go make sure Mali doesn't kill Riley. See ya boys later!" I skipped out of the house. and once I got out of the house I sighed in relief.

I found them running to the beach and decided to chase after them. Thank god I chose to wear sneakers today instead of my heels. You only make mistakes like those once.

I ran past Toby's and mine beach spot and decided to hang there for a little while. Sun was setting pretty soon and our spot was the best place to watch it.

I sat near this palm tree where we engraved our initials on the trunk as a claim. I leaned against the tree and listen to music as the sun went down.

The sun was almost gone when I decided to leave. as I was about to get up a figure emerged from the bushes.

It was Toby.
