Jean's POV

I decided to go to the kitchen to get myself some tea. Coffee will just make me more anxious.

Nakita ko sa kusina si Christian. Naglilinis siya mga plato na pinagkainan namin kanina.

"Can't sleep?" tanong ko sa kanya

"Jean!" nagulat siya nung nagsalita ako, "Y-yeah..." masyado ba siyang praning? "Sorry Jean. 'Di ko lang talaga maramdaman presence mo," sabi niya sa akin. Well, I didn't need to ask.

I raised my eyebrow in curiosity, "Have I improved that much?" tanong ko. Nagkibit balikat lang siya. I've been observing Shen how to do it and I tried to copy it.

"Anything for tonight Jean?"

"Oh right," nakalimutan ko tuloy yung pinunta ko dito, "Can you make me some tea please. If we have more Earl Grey then I'll prefer that,"

Ngumiti siya sa akin at nagpainit na ng tubig. I made myself comfortable on the stool while I waited for Christian with the tea.

Christian...

Is it right to continue with my act?

What is the right thing to do? Please give me a sign.

"Oh! Jean! Hehehe,"

Any other sign?

I looked behind me and saw Adrian waving his hand happily, "'Di ka rin ba makatulog? Hehe ako rin eh,"

He joined me and sat on the stool next to me, "Excited ka ba? Or... kinakabahan? Hmmm?" he teased me but for some reason, he doesn't seem to be annoying now. Maybe I'm just getting used to how he is.

Tumayo siya at nagpunta sa fridge. He took the milk from the fridge, grabbed the sugar from the cabinet then a cup and then sat back down beside me, "Christian making you a tea? Here, milk and then sugar,"

He poured himself a cup of milk. Huminga siya ng malalim at nawala ang mga ngiti niya, "Jokes aside... how are you feeling Jean?" seryoso na tanong ni Adrian sa akin.

I couldn't answer for a while. To be honest, even I myself don't know what to answer. I don't feel 'excited' knowing that one of us could die. I don't feel... eager to fight. It's been a while since I haven't but it doesn't mean na kating-kati ako makipaglaban.

Everyone is strong, they can protect themselves. I don't need to worry about them

Magsasalita na sana ako nang magpakita ang magkambal, "Hi Jean!" masaya nilang bati sa akin.

Kuro tried to match his brother's energy. It's cute to see him like this.

I do wonder why he acts like a brat to me.

"Who's watching Shen?" tanong ko sa kanila

"Si Chelsea," sabay nilang sagot sa akin, "She's designing gadgets while Shen sleeps," sagot sa akin ni Kuro. I'm guessing she can't sleep either. That's what she does when she feels anxious. She becomes creative.

If Christian is here anyway... I guess I shouldn't worry.

"Tea, Jean," Christian got my attention. I thanked him before I mixed milk and sugar into my tea.

Ahh... that's refreshing. I feel so much better.

I stared at the warm tea thinking that I have nothing to offer to the king tomorrow. I have what I need, but at the same time, I don't.
