Esme POV
I was really lucky to get a job at the theatre royal. I've been working there for almost a week and I'm really enjoying it. All the people are really nice and love tea. I'm not even joking their tea crazy. It didn't go well when I told them I didn't like tea. We ended up having a half hour discussion about it, it was surprisingly intense.
My boss was really good and luckily seemed to like me which was a surprise. My last boss experiences haven't been to great and usually ended up with me either being fired or on some sort of extra work. It's not my fault I have a temper and want human rights.
The only down side was that I couldn't see Dan as much. We've been trying to see each other at least every other day and we practically text all day but it's not the same as spending all day with him.
But today was the first day we've both had a free afternoon. We planned to meet for lunch and then wonder round town before going to back to his.
"Esme can you pass me that light?" Beth asked me. Beth was the person who was showing me everything and being my sort of mentor for the play. We got on really well and she was really funny.
"Yep" I grabbed the light and gave it to her.
"Cheers" she took it. Me and Beth had become good friends. To be honest I had become great friends with the whole team and cast. Everyone seemed to just get along and have a laugh. It was such a nice place to be. I feel to at home there even though I was quite out of my comfort zone.
Music always played in the theatre, I loved it. I always had music on when I'm at home or pretty much doing anything anywhere. And it was always great when you had everyone singing at the top of their lungs to one direction.
"Ok I think we're about done. Are the mics set up?" Beth asked
"Yep there all done"
"Great. We can go home thank god" she grinned.
I laughed "yeah it will be nice to chill for the afternoon"
"What are you going to be up to?"
"Meeting Dan. We'll probably end up playing video games on his couch. What about you?"
"Eating and then sleeping"
"Haha sounds like a good idea"
"Yep there's perks to being single. You can look like shit and no one sees you"
"Very true" I laughed.
"See ya" Beth said over her shoulder as we started walking our separate ways from the theatre.
"Yeah bye!" I called back. Dan was meeting me at a cafe about 5 minutes away. He'd already texted saying he was there so I hurried so he won't have to sit there awkwardly for to long. Cause God knows we're both socially inept.
I saw him through the window looking out before he spotted me. When his eyes reached mine a smile spread across his face. It felt nice knowing I was the reason for that smile. I walked through door and made my way over to Dans table.
"Hey" he got up to get me a kiss "you have a good morning?"
"Yeah we mostly just set up stuff for tomorrow" I shrugged "you do anything interesting?"
"Not really. Got up and came here"
"Your so lazy!"
"Says you"
"Whatever" I smiled knowing he was right. He knew me to well.
We had bacon rolls for lunch at the cafe. After we decided to have a wonder round town. I dragged him in most of the small local shops I loved all the little things you could get in there.
After walking round for over an hour and having purchased some new shoes we headed back to Dans.
"Did you really need another pair of boots? There exactly like your other brown ones"
"No there not. They have a different sized heel and there shorter"
"Yeah by 2 millimetres" I rolled my eyes boys don't understand shoes.
"You have loads of shoes!" I defeated myself.
"Yeah but there all different"
"Yeah different colours"
"Okay fine we both have lots of shoes. You happy?"
"Nope!" I said popping the p. I smiled up at him cheekily.
"Your so annoying" he rolled his eyes at my smile but had a large grin on his face.
"Aw you love me really"
"Yeah alright"
"Rude"
"Haha course I love you"
"Good right answer" he laughed and kissed my cheek. He's so annoyingly sweet.
When we got to Dans we sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV. Dan said Finn wasn't home from work yet.
"What you wanna play?" Dan asked
handing me the controller."Um I'm in the mood for some portal 2"
"Ok"
"No that way!" We'd been playing for about half an hour. Dan and me always get frustrated playing video games. We always play way to seriously unless we're playing something like guitar hero when we usually end up in fits.
"What are you doing!"
"Whoa guys calm your tits" Finn walked into the living room, I didn't even hear him walk in.
"Hey Finn" I greeted him pausing the game for a minute.
"You alright Esme?"
"Yeah you?"
"Yeah I'm just worried your going to kill each other" he laughed.
"What time is it?" Dan asked.
"Six"
"We should order a takeaway or something" Dan suggested.
"Good idea what do you fancy?"
"KFC"
"Of course the healthy option" I said sarcastically.
"No takeaway is healthy Esme"
"True"
Dan and me went to get KFC for the three of us. We ended up ordering so much food but we were all hungry so nevermind.
"Got enough there?" Finn said as we came through the door with 2 giant KFC bags.
"Yep"
After eating we watched American horror story and then RIPD. When it was 10 Dan took me home.
"Is it weird without Belle?" Dan asked.
"Yeah. Really weird. I miss her" after seeing her so much it was strange her not being in the apartment. I knew neither me or Millie would be there much longer. I was hoping to get a job at a movie and move out after Christmas. I know Millie and Eddie would probably move in together and settle down somewhere . I wouldnt be surprised if they were engaged at the beginning of next year and I know Millie wants a family. As for me I wanted to move to London. Ever since I was 14 I wanted to live there. I've always loved it. City's at night are one of my favourite things. And London was gorgeous. But I worried what it would bring for me and Dan. We'd spoken briefly about it but agreed to leave it till closer the time. Though it still sat between us.
