I sighed. He was always the late type. I scrolled through Twitter stealing Starbucks wifi.

"Boo!" I jumped back almost hitting him in the face.
"Jeese Connor! You scared the shit out of me" he laughed.
"Sorry" he said gaining a more serious expression. He looked good. He wore light blue jeans unlike Dans usual black ones, a plain grey shirt and a brown coat. He had a great tan probably from spending 2 years in Australia. His hair was the same light brown but was styled in a quiff unlike when I last saw him.

Connor and me were old friends. At a point we were more than that but he moved to Australia to study when I was 17. I was upset of course and for a while I went a bit of the rails, drinking and having meaningless flings but after 6 months and many hospital trips I pulled my life together with the help of Belle and Millie.

Connor was the only person who knew everything. He saved me. He was there when everyone else left. He tried to understand and I loved him for that. I don't know where I'd be without him. He could see through all my 'I'm fine' lies. So I never saw the point lying to him. I only ever did once. When he left he asked if I was okay now. I was better but I wasn't out yet. But I knew that if I'd said I wasn't he wouldn't have gone and going to Australia was just a huge opportunity for him. But I'm good now. There are still things I need to do but I'm happy.

"It's so good to see you" I gave him a tight hug. "How was Australia?"

"Great thanks. Hot"

"No shit Sherlock" I rolled my eyes.

"I can see you haven't lost your sparkling personalty" he said sarcastically. I hit him lightly smiling. I was really good to see him.

"So what have you been up to?"

"Well moved here with Millie and Belle. Took an amazing film course that I did pretty well in if I do say so myself. At the moment I'm working at a theatre not far from here"

"That sounds great. Are Millie and Belle good?"

"Yeah Millie has been taking a college course"
"Horses?" He asked

"What else?" I laughed. " Belle's had a rough year but she's just moved to Birmingham to go to Uni"

"That's great. I'm happy for her. Do they know I'm here?"

I cringed slightly "no I haven't told them yet"

"Oh" his voice dropped.

"I haven't seen to much of them lately there really busy" I said.

"So any boys on the scene?" He asked raising an eyebrow jokily.

"Well I'm been dating this guy for about a month or so now"

"That's great. I'm so happy for you! How did you meet?" He looked so pleased.

"On the film course I did. We worked on the project together. What about you any girls?"

"I've been dating a girl called Daisy for about 7 months"

"Aw I'm happy for you" I'm glad we've both moved on with our lives. I was slightly scared that seeing him would bring back to many memories but it was actually really great.

We caught up as we walked around Norwich. It was a surprising nice day for late December. Australia sounded amazing I'd love to go one day. Connor said that I could come stay with him whenever I wanted. I'm very tempted to take him up on the offer. Dan has always said he wanted to go to Australia.

We decided to go to Pizza Express for lunch. I ordered my usual of margarita and Connor got a chicken and mushroom pizza. Lunch was fun and we laughed most of the meal.

"So what's Daisy like?" I asked while we waited for dessert.

"She's really smart. She's studying law. Shes lived in Australia all of her life and likes it like that. She's not much or a traveller. But she's really pretty and I'm happy" he spoke of her so beautifully. He practically glowed.
"What about Dan?

"He's just a passionate at film as me. We're both very sarcastic and crazy about maltesers. He's so kind and treats me really nice" I smiled.

"Your happy?"

"Defiantly"

"Me too".

After the meal we walked around some more. It started getting dark and me and Connor went our different ways to his hotel and the apartment. I would offer for him to stay at the apartment but I didn't want Dan to think anything was going on. I wanted to talk to him first and explain who Connor was rather than him turning up to the apartment and seeing him. Dan gets jealous really easierly and although I know he knows I would never cheat on him he'd still blow up.

I was greeted by Millie when I got to the apartment.

"Hey. Where have you been today?"

"Remember Connor?"

"Yeah course"
"He's come over for Christmas so we met up"

"Oh" Millie saw how I was when Connor left.

"Don't worry. We just caught up. We've both moved on and are happy. Maybe once we were right together but we've both changed and want different things. And I'm very happy with Dan"

"I know. I'm glad you guys met up. Bet it was nice to see each other"

"Yeah it was. What's for dinner? I've had a huge lunch so I don't want much."

"Um I was thinking a rice meal?"

"Sounds good" I put my stuff in my room and went to sit with Millie in the living room. We watched a movie and I called Dan after he got back from work. I didn't mention Connor because I'd rather talk to him face to face but we talked about pretty much everything else.

Me and Millie ate and had really a chilled out night. It was nice after having a busy week.
