Lydia had a wonderful night last night when Stiles had set up a fancy out door date for them. It was perfect. They had talked and laughed the rest of the night, and Stiles had acted like a total gentlemen. The whole thing was romantic, and fun, and Lydia had a great night.
Lydia and Stiles had practically talked so much, that by the time Stiles left, it was already past midnight! Lydia didn't even feel tired. She was enjoying herself, and it felt nice to just laugh and not have to worry about a whole bunch of things.
Lydia woke up to a hard, thrashing noise. It sounded like a leaves being blown in the summer time. Lydia slowly got up from her couch that she had passed out on, and peeked out the window. It was pouring rain, and the sky was all gloomy.
Lydia liked days like these. These were the days Lydia could just lay in bed, eat snacks, and watch her favorite show on Netflix. Sometimes, though, she couldn't do this because of school. But, luckily it was Saturday, so she could lay around all day.
Lydia wanted to call Stiles, but she didn't want to seem like the overly attached girl friend. Instead, Lydia got up, and went to her kitchen for some snacks. On her way to her fridge, she checked the clock in her living room, and it was only 7:00.
Lydia had no idea how she could go to bed around 1:30 in the morning, and wake up at 7:00. It was just one of the odd things about Lydia Martin.
Lydia stretched her back real quick, and made her way over to her ivory fridge. Lydia was pretty sure her mom had just gone to the store, so her fridge was suppose to be packed. Lydia swung her fridge door open, and just like she had guessed: it was full.
Lydia dug around looking for something to yummy, and sweet to eat, but found nothing she was in the mood for. So, she checked her pantry. Lydia found some Funyuns, and pretzels to snack on. She put them on her kitchen counter, and went back to the fridge to grab a bottle of water.
Just as Lydia's hand touched the handle, her door gave three hard knocks. Lydia was wasn't expecting any company. She thought it could be Stiles, but he usually rings the door bell. Maybe he decided to knock this time.
Lydia started to walk to her front door when she thought that maybe her mom was expecting someone.
"MOM?!" Lydia yelled. "ARE YOU EXPECTING SOMEONE?"
Lydia waited a few moments without an answer. Was her mom out again?
Lydia was snapped out of her thoughts when another three rough knocks banged on her door.
Lydia stomped up to the door, and she didn't even bother to look to see who it was. Lydia quickly unlocked the door, and brandished the door open.
When Lydia saw who it was, she should just have pretended she was asleep. "Hi...Malia."
"Hey, Lydia. Were you expecting someone else?" Malia asked. Malia was soaked from head to toe. Her hair, her clothes, her face, her shoes, everything. Malia had on a plain violet purple long sleeved shirt. She was wearing jean shorts, and black boots that went to about almost her knee.
Lydia laughed nervously, and put on a fake smile. "N-no. Why would you think that?"
Malia shrugged, and crossed her arms. Rain droplets were dripping from her hair, her eyelashes, and her nose. "Oh, I don't know probably because you've been hooking up with my ex-boyfriend."
Lydia was pretty sure her heart was going 50 miles an hour. Lydia gulped. "Well... technically he's your ex-boyfriend...but-"
"YOU WERE SCREWING WITH STILES WHEN WE TOGETHER!" Malia yelled flaring her arms in the air.
"W-What?! NO! I wasn't-" Lydia tried to speak, but Malia kept yelling at her.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DECENT ENOUGH TO NOT GO SLEEPING AROUND WITH EVERY CUTE BOY YOU SEE!" Malia shouted so that basically her whole neighbor hood could hear.
"Malia, please stop screaming, let me explain-" Lydia said trying to calm Malia down. But, sadly it wasn't working.
"NO! NO! YOU LYING SCUMBAG!" Malia's eyes turned a vibrant bright blue.
"MALIA! LISTEN, NOW!" Lydia finally roared. Malia actually stopped screaming, and her eyes dimmed back to brown. She still had on a mad expression, but she wasn't making a noise, and thats all Lydia wanted.
Lydia sighed. She grabbed Malia's arm, and pulled her inside. Lydia closed her door, and locked it. Malia was dripping wet, and shivering like a pig on national bacon day.
"What are you doing?" Malia asked through her teeth.
Lydia went to her guest bedroom, and got a few big towels. She brought them back to where Malia was, and handed them to her. Malia looked at Lydia for a second, and then asked: "What?"
"Take these!" Lydia ordered. Malia hastily took them, and wrapped the largest one around herself, and took the smallest to dry her hair. Lydia nodded, and led Malia over to her couch.
Malia sat down. She was still mad, and wanted an explanation, and she wanted one now.
Lydia sat across from Malia.
"Now, listen to me. Stiles and I have known each other since the third grade. I always knew he had a crush on me, and after all we've been through together,we got really close. About junior year, we kissed." Malia tensed up a bit at these words.
Lydia took a breath and continued. "But, it wasn't like a romantic kiss. At least for me it wasn't. Stiles was having a panic attack because his dad had gone missing by this Darach thing. I'll tell you later, anyway, I kissed him to stop his panic attack. And, thats all I did. But, after I kissed him, my feelings wanted to be more than friends.
"By the time I was ready to admit my feelings, it was too late. He already found a girl that made him happy. You." Malia shifted in her seat, and kept looking at Lydia; as she was intrigued by the story.
"When I saw Stiles, and how happy you made him, I didn't want to confess my feelings, and ruin your relationship. I was just going to mess with his feelings, so I kept quiet. And I stayed quiet for two years. When all of this stuff started happening with that fox, and the new threat, I started to feel vulnerable."
Lydia took another breath, and breathed a shaky one out. "And there was only one person's shoulder I could count on."
"Stiles." Malia answered.
Lydia nodded. "When we were talking about two weeks ago, we started talking about how lucky he was to have you in his life, and how lucky I was to have him in my life. Then he kissed me, and I kissed back."
Malia looked away from Lydia's gaze. Lydia started to feel guilty, and teared up. "Malia, I didn't mean to hurt you, and I never slept with Stiles. All we did was go out on one date."
Malia looked back to Lydia whos eyes were all red, and puffy. "I know, I saw you two hugging, and make goo-goo eyes back and forth. I know he took you out on a little picnic, and got you a beautiful ring, that you're still wearing now!" Malia said in a stern voice.
Lydia looked down at her hand, and saw the gorgeous ring sparkling on her finger. Lydia pointed her head back towards Malia.
"I will get Stiles back." Malia said getting up. "Stiles was my boyfriend first, and I already marked my territory."
Lydia got up as well, she stopped crying. "Get out."
Malia quickly walked to Lydia's front door, she spun around and said: "See you around, boy stealer."
"GET OUT!!" Lydia screamed as she ran over to the door, pushed Malia out, and slammed the door as hard as she could.
She was now bursting with tears, and her eyes stung. Lydia locked the door, and turned around. She then slowly slouched down on her floor, and cried for the rest of the afternoon.
