On the way home I made sure I turned away from him and faced the window, it was far more relaxing and assuring than having my hand near his crotch… that was for sure. I didn’t want to make conversation either to be honest, it just felt too awkward and I didn’t want to distract him from his driving.

“Sooo… where do you live?”  I didn’t turn to him, but curiosity was obviously killing the cat here so I thought it best to comply… he’d only keep bugging me otherwise

“Just drop me off where you found me earlier”

“…ok” he sounded almost saddened by the fact I wasn’t falling for his little charmer routine and I most certainly was not going to tell him where I lived… no sir “That’s not where you live though… is it?” I didn’t even need to turn around to tell his one brow was raised… mocking me.

“What makes you so sure?” I questioned, he was so full of himself… wandering into my life like that and turning it back on its head, invading my dreams… just who the hell did he think he was!?

“Well for one thing princess, you still had your bag with you...” ‘PRINCESS! Wh-what??

“That has nothing to do with it!” I spat at him

“Actually… it does” his hands loosened a little on the steering wheel a bit as he sighed “Now… please, tell me where you live…  I’d sleep better tonight knowing you got home safely”

“fine” I breathed… it was pointless arguing with this kid… it could never stay mad at him, so I gave him the address of the street next to mine, well he wouldn’t know anyway… it’s not like I made it aware that I was lying by smiling as I talked or becoming overly enthusiastic that some hot hottie was giving me a lift home.

He pulled up exactly where I asked him too ‘good boy’ I thought to myself but trying not to smile at the image of him with long floppy ears and a collar around his neck

“See you tomorrow Jen” I just gave him a smile for response and watched him drive off into the darkness before I made my way home, it wasn’t exactly far away… but in the dark it was becoming increasingly frightening. I never did like the dark but just looking up at the sky at night and seeing all those sparkling little jewels shelter and comfort the mother moon… well it was just breath-taking. As I made my way through the neighbourhood I heard the familiar sounds of police sirens scurrying around in the distance, the drunken shouts of youth as they made their way home from the pubs one foot sliding under the other but above all I heard the neighbours arguing over very petty things such as a child had forgotten to clean his room that evening, so when the mother walked in to say goodnight to their child… well you can probably guess the amount of fury erupted from this woman, another familiar sound were the dogs barking at cats that teased and taunted them by strutting their way along the walls of the garden, tail and head up in matched synchronisation before jumping away to go find another target.

As I approached my door I noticed that all the lights downstairs were off, yet all of upstairs’ lights were on… I quickly grabbed my phone to check the time and was left star-struck as I saw it was exactly 11:05PM, obviously dad was going to flip as soon as I walked in. I grabbed the chrome coloured handle of my front door and slowly pulled it downwards, once the door was open I tip-toed inside and edged the door to a quiet close. Making my way up the stairs I tried to shift my weight around to avoid making the stairs creek… it worked for the entire length of the stairs until I hit the top ‘Shit..’ I thought

“Jen… is that you” he croaked, he was probably only half asleep… I made him worry

“Yeah” I sighed
