"I saved every letter you wrote me"

The woman walks over to the maple desk, sitting in the cushioned leather chair. She sees on top of the silver laptop lays a letter, her name on the front. She opens the couple of pages of words. She smiles as she reads the simple words from her husband.

They started this tradition ten years ago a little after they got married. This is how she told him of the child, their first child. They have two children, a son and a daughter. Phillip and Eliza. Very intelligent kids she managed to get from her wonderful husband.

"From the moment I saw you," she whispers to herself. She remembers the moment she fell in love with his blue eyes.

"I knew you were mine," she continues to whisper. Looking at the photo in the silver frame. A sweet smile gracing her face. The memory of the party she arrived with her best friend, Sarah. A woman she calls her sister yet they are nothing related. These two women love the same man. Yet Kristina managed to wrap her finger around Sebastian. He was the best, sweeping off her feet right away. She finally manages to get to the laptop. There she opens, seeing the email notification. She types the password in. There she clicks onto the email. She sees a random link to an article sent to her from a coworker.

"You said you were mine," she reads the title. Right in bold print, "Sebastian Opens of His Affair." Those bright memories flush out of her brain. She feels the world crash down on her. She couldn't bring herself past the title until she sees the screenshot of the notes app. She sees Sebastian posted on his Instagram multiple pictures of his notes about his affair.

"I thought you were mine," Kristina mumbles as she touches the screen. Tears filling her eyes. She couldn't believe this man she loves did this to her. She looks at her left hand, wondering if those metal bands mean anything to him.

Kristina picks her phone up, hitting the call button. She wasn't going straight to the source, no. She needs support to think straight. There she starts to talk to her sister, afraid to face the real world. They go back and forth until Kristina finally slams the phone down and hangs up. She breathes heavy, anger soon washing away as the sadness hits her once again. She has yet to cry her eyes out.

"Do you know what Sarah said," she asks the man in the picture. Picking the frame up, there she touches his face gently. How could she not see this? Every time she begged him to go with her yet he told her he had work. Did he lie to see this whore? Did he make up this whole thing? Does her love mean nothing to this man?

"When I told her what you'd done?" She asks the picture. The wide smile they have towards each other. The simple picture was the two smiling at each other at their wedding. Something she thought could be the happiest day of her life. Little did she know this would happen. Maybe she should have said I don't.

"You have married an Icarus
He has flown too close to the sun."

The only thing keeping her face lit in the darkness was the fireplace. Near the middle of the night. The children have fallen asleep as she waits for this man to come home. He opens the door, hesitantly making his way into the living room.

"Don't take another step in my direction." Sebastian stares at the silhouette on the couch. He can feel the tension between the two grow. He stands there frozen. His heart beating faster as he waits for her to say anything to him.
