There he sits on the plane with the other soldiers, he stares out of the small window he got lucky enough to sit across from. Hard to see through the glass from another soldier blocking it. His blue eyes linger to see the city go away, to see only the two blue shades of the ocean and the sky. The shaking of the plane makes his stomach grow uneasy. He looks around the plane, why did he have to go? He didn't pick for this to happen, he didn't want to go at all. He didn't volunteer, instead, they picked him. Guess he happened to one of the unlucky ones.

"Barnes," the man next to him spoke up. He looks at the man, one of the 107th regiment like him. He's a small kid just like Steve. He has blue eyes and blonde hair but he's been trained to do well.

"Yes, Willis," he asks the kid in confusion. The blue eyes of his look around the plane in fear and back at Barnes.

"Neither do I... but our country asks us to do so," Barnes informs the little one. Willis hesitates a bit and nods his head. He pulls the comic book, something he had snuck on with him.

"You have anyone back home," Willis asks Barnes. Barnes closes his blue eyes finally and nods his head to the question that stings his heart.

"I have brothers and sisters, a mother and father, and a girl," he whispers at the end. Barnes misses her so dearly. He misses the way she didn't care about her hair, leaving it straight as possible. The way her green eyes with the little makeup amazes to how beautiful she is. The lips of hers she would only have painted for certain occasions. The dates that were full of fun and laughter. The scent of perfume on her neck and wrists he would get from kissing her hand or neck. Everything about his girl made him love her so much, everything made him go head over heels. The little things about her amazed him even second he was with her.

"You have a girl, what is she like," Willis asks, not meaning to go into Barnes' personal life. Barnes doesn't quite care, finding the boy's curiosity just like Steve's. Barnes answers, going on and on about the woman he loves. He ends up telling a story about Stever, her, and him. The two boys laughing at the end.

There he has the sniper up, his finger near the trigger but not there until he's ready. His breathing heavy from waiting for the perfect shot, patience is what he was told during training but to him... this felt nothing like patience. He soon pulls on the trigger, where the ring goes through his ear as he sees the body fall to the ground from the wound in the chest he caused. He goes down as Willis still is up.

"Willis," he whispers in anger. The fool looks at Barnes instead of following along with the man. There the head gets shot right in front of him. The pale look goes across Barnes' face. He grabs the gun and stands up. There he shoots off from the body, he can't believe he just left behind Willis... his only friend. He runs through the forest with all his might. He never noticed how there were bullets passing him until he heard a tree nearby him get hit with one. He picks his speed up, even more, trying his best to lose them off his tail. He cuts down the forest line, he gets to a wide enough tree. He stands there with his gun up and looks around the corner of the tree. There he takes his gun and aims at the man after him. The man soon passes a tree and Barnes pulls the trigger. The man falls to the ground and Barnes shoots off. He heads back to camp.

Barnes arrives at the base, he's out of breath. This was supposed to be a two-man mission, listen in on the intel. Barnes never meant to do the first shot... but he couldn't risk them being found. He had to take the two men out. Men walk over to Barnes, noticing the second person with him is gone.
