Ash injects the last bit of her concoction into Liu Han before leaping as far away as she could. In the next instant, she's already above ground and still retreating, but it's not quite enough.

A stray bolt of lightning strikes her.

Fuck! Ash should've just kept all of her protective gear!

[If you hadn't given it to Liu Han, he'd be dead.]

Disgruntled, Ash snorts as she continues to flee from the scene. It's good that she's had the prudence to deliver the still-unconscious Yu Yan to the city. If she hadn't, there'd be one less little lady.

[When will she wake up?]

"She'll wake up tomorrow." Ash wiggles her eyebrows at the distortion. "Why? Have you taken a liking to her?"

[I was just curious! I don't know how your potions work.]

Ash will offer no explanation either.

After a good hour, Ash finally decides to open her mouth again. "Those are some nice explosions. Do you think he'll make it?"

[Why? Have you taken a liking to him?]

"Are you getting smart with me?" Ash scoffs. "My departure is no longer dependent on his life or death. Why would I want to see my hard work turn into a mere corpse?"

The distortion, being the little shit it is, answers her indirectly. [Do you want to leave as soon as he dies?]

Ash rolls her eyes. "You don't know he'll die. More importantly, why didn't you tell me I can choose when I'll leave? With how adamant you were about the specifics of my departure, I thought you'd decide for me."

[No, you have the freedom to choose. However, you cannot stay longer than the length of time in which the original had lived.]

"Which means?"

[You will be ejected from this world in three months. The real Feng Yun didn't live long.]

Ash takes in a deep breath before gently looking at the distortion with her beautiful green eyes. "If I could touch you without putting myself in a near-death state, my hands would be closing around whatever your equivalent of a human's throat is."

[I-I see.]

"How long will the lighting last?"

[Twelve hours, with the power of its strikes increasing two-fold every hour.]

Ash sighs. "I might as well wipe the memories of Liu Han's harem myself." Reluctantly, Ash turns towards the capital.

She sighs. "This is rather annoying."

...

Liu Han is angry, to put it lightly.

This bastard keeps screwing him over. Why did he keep following Feng Yun anyway?

He had to conquer some serious mental obstacles to even acknowledge the fact that Feng Yun is a woman—because Liu Han thought he finally met a man whose IQ is higher than a boar's—but now his benevolence and understanding led a bed of lightning bolts.

Please excuse him if he gets a little prissy.

Feng Yun did help him out—he's reached immortality, effectively accomplishing something that hasn't been spoken of in anything other than vague, fantastical legends.

However, Liu Han smells like burnt flesh, lost most of his hair, and likely has serious trust issues as a result.

Liu Han stands and scans his surrounds in a likely futile attempt to locate the bastard. When that fails, he scratches his head and decides to return the capital.
