Let's finish off this Decade with a ship that will undoubtedly make you really freaking sad. Carl and Ellie.
This Romance goes from Carl being a shy kid and Ellie being really energetic, to Carl being a grumpy old man and Ellie being Dead in like fifteen minutes of Movie time and Pixar got us to care. THEY DIDN'T EVEN SAY ONE WORD!
That's what I feel like makes this Ship really interesting. They don't exchange a lot of Dialogue, but the way they interact in those fifteen minutes really gets you to care about them. I just got really sad when I found out they never made it to their Dream Destination together. It was a Dream they shared for their entire Life and it never came true. That's the difference between Disney and Pixar. Disney's all like never give up on your Dreams, work hard to achieve them, wish upon a Star, while Pixar hits you over the Head with a Book and tells you that Dreams don't always come true. Like a freaking Rat got to fulfill his Dream of becoming a Restaurant Owner, but my Girl Ellie never gets to go to Paradise Falls?
The first fifteen minutes of the Film, the fact that Carl would do everything for her and Paradise Falls really make this Ship.
12/10, it's not a personal OTP, but I feel like along with Eve and Wall•E it might be the best Pixar Ship.
