My knees were shaky as I wobbled over to the door and closed it, trying to sort out everything that was going on in my mind right now. Austin stared tiredly at me and then spun around, leaving for the bedroom. I followed him.

"Austin?"

He laughed "you are the goddess of death? Sure, and I'm Tom Cruise. What was he talking about? It is...it is true?"

"Austin, calm down. I know-"

"Would you please just sit down and tell me the truth, now?" He snarled at me that I stirred up. I nodded and sat beside him. How do I start this? Just how I did with Margo? But this is different. Austin had seen me conjuring the time. He'd ask questions. I have to tell him everything. It wouldn't be peaceful like it had been with Margo where I kept telling her everything and she just listened. I had never done this before. But I would have to now.

"I am the demigod of Death." I blurt out and he nods. Right, Augury already told him that. That prick. I'll deal with him later.

"My full name is Martha Moirai. One of the three sisters that are called The Fates; the Goddesses of destinies. My eldest sister, Chloe, is the one who spins the wheels of life and is the bringer or a new start of life. Then, my other sister, Lila is the one who allots the portions of fate to people and measures their lives, and then I cut the thread of the people who have outed their destinies. I cut the thread of life and the person dies." I say and wait for him to process.

"So you're saying you are a Goddess? You won't die?"

"I can die but not very easily. If I were a Goddess, I wouldn't die. But since I am a demigod, it may take a while but I can die. Besides, there is a sword called Fatae which means fatal or destined to die, which is meant to kill us, Moirai...and we have life threads, if we have them with us, nothing would bother us."

"But only you could cut the thread, right?" He says.

"Yeah. There is this special song of death that I sing while cutting the tapestry, and the person dies."

"Oh. So like.....how do you find these threads?" He shifted in his seat, his hands dancing comically in the air. "I figured, your sisters past down the tapestry to you..but how do they get the thread? And, how do they know how a tapestry for a particular person should be drawn?"

A smile slipped into my face. He looked so innocent. I struggled to keep a straight face as I resumed to explain. "It is usually a normal thread bewitched by my sister, Chloe. These threads are also equivalent to our hair. When placed on a tapestry or any other fabled system of a God, it gets bewitched into a real life thread.

And we all have the special ability to get visions, especially Lila. The visions are not specific, in fact very hard to understand. Usually, if a person is going to fall in love, she'd know but she wouldn't know with whom they are going to fall in love, and the main thing is that, its not in our hands to change it. The humans themselves have some say in their lives, not us."

"Oh." He says and doesn't speak for a while. "So you don't know what is going to happen with you in the future?"

I shook my head 'no' and he nods.

"Cool." He said finally. "What did you do to shield me from whatever that guy, Augury was doing to me?"

"Augury is the God of prophecy, truth, art, archery, sun and light. He is the son of Zeus. I reckon you might have some idea about who that is." I said and he nods in agreement.

"Augury was planning to strike you with lightening but I stopped him. I have the power to stop time. I used my power to conjure time with my other power to compel." I told him, and when he didn't reply, I added, "I can oblige people to work in a particular way whether they like it or not. So I compelled him to leave as soon as you give him the tapestry, without harming you."

He raised an eyebrow at me, then asked, "How were you so sure I was going to give him the tapestry?"

I didn't say anything and his eyes widened. "You compelled me!" He exclaimed and I nodded, hesitantly. "Martha-"

"I am sorry. I did it for your benefit. I didn't want him to hurt you. Besides, he is not in his right mind. His friend is going to die and his lover left him. I can't really blame him and I knew he'd overreact about everything.

Gods tend to make poor yet capital decisions when they are angry and hurt. That is why I told you to give him his friend's tapestry." I said and he nodded after a pause.

"But you'd let his friend live beyond his portion? Isn't that unfair?" He frowned and I nodded.

"But who said he's not going to die?" I smiled at him and he stared blankly at him. I stifled a laugh and resumed talking, "I am the demigod of Death, Austin. Of course, I have other ways to kill the guy. But I'll have to hold a council meeting before I kill him. With my cousin, Tarren, the God of the dead."

"How is he different from you?" He frowned again. He seemed to have growing impatient now.

"I bring death and my cousin, Tarren is death. He is the personification of death. People know him by the name Thanatos." I explain.

He sighs, nodding. "And what all other super powers do you have? Other than that-" He made a weird gesture with his hand that made me laugh. "and compulsion" He adds.

I stared at his eyes for a minute and then blinked. His eyes widened with surprise. "You can change your eye color?" He palmed his mouth and I gave him an easy grin, before blinking again. He kept on gasping as I blinked my colors.

"These colors make me. These are my personalities." I blinked to my original green color. "This is my cardinal color, green. It means mystery. Just like death." I told him and he stopped blinking for a minute.

I blinked. "Blue." He said in a wavering voice.

"It means calm and peace." I explained and then blinked.

"Chocolate brown."

"Stability."

"Hazel."

"Daring."

"Gray."

"Strong."

"These colors make you?"

"These colors make death. It is all. Mysterious, calm, stable, daring and strong." I tell him and he doesn't react. I realize it is a lot to take in.

"And your cousin, Tarren? Your sisters? They can change eye colors too?" He asked innocently.

"They all have different eye colors. But they don't change eye color like I do. Since I bring death to the fate of a person, I have the powers to introduce people with their death. Tarren has golden eyes which means attainment or fulfillment. After I cut the life threads, he takes the souls of the dead and guides them to Hermes, who further guides them to the several levels of the land of the dead." I tell him and he sighs again.

We don't speak for a long time and then he says, "I think I'll call it a night now. I just-"

"It is okay. I know it is a lot to take in." I nodded, smiling at him.

"Yeah. Sleep would probably be the best course of action right now. Tomorrow I would think more in depth but right now, I'd just like to pretend that I was dreaming."

"Sure." I grinned.

"Martha, can you promise me one thing?" He said suddenly and I stared at him.

"Promise me you won't compel me again."

"I promise." I said, meaning it.
