My brain froze in panic as my hands flapped almost comically all over and inside the bag. I cover my mouth with both of my hands and feel all of my blood rushing up to my throat as bile. I throw the bag upside down in the air and nothing drops. The tapestries are gone.

I lost the tapestries. The people of whom these tapestries I had to tear apart are in danger because of me. It is all my fault.

I need to tell Chloe and Lila.

But if I tell them, they will know that I went to a party.

They will never trust me again. They will lock me up and never let me out.

But I need to tell them. People's life is in danger because of me.

First my own life thread, then my green eyes turning black, Margo already knows everything but she couldn't have. She wouldn't. Oh God, did I really mess up telling her about me being a demigod of death?

I have put my own life in danger. I can't put other's life in danger. They didn't do anything wrong. They don't deserve this punishment. I really need to this to Lila and Chloe, even if it means I'll have to stay indoors for the rest of my life.

I breathed in a deep breath and went straight outside to the hall. "Chloe! Lila! Can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Yes darling. Are you alright?" Lila showed up.

"I did something terrible."

Chloe came in and I wished that the earth opens up and swallows me. What on earth have I gotten myself into?

"What's wrong?" Chloe crossed her arms, her eyes narrowed.

Okay Martha. You have to do this. Quick. Like a band-aid.

"I lied to you guys."

Nobody said a thing.

".....There was a party. Today, in college. I went there. I lied when I said I was going to the tapestry workshop and I got a little drunk."

"You had alcohol?!" Lila gaped at me and I looked down at my feet.

"It is okay, Lila. At least she is in one piece. But Morta, this is your last and final warning! We told you not to trust humans. You never listen to us! Silly girl!" Chloe said and was starting to leave. They are already so mad. I don't know how am I going to tell them about the rest of it. Dear God, this is not going to go good. But who am I to blame?

"Wait, that's not-all." I said and they glared down at me but didn't say a thing.

My sweat broke in as I tried to gather the words. Well, here goes nothing.

"The tapestries that I took along with me for a fake evidence to fool you guys that I had gone to work and not anywhere else...."

"Well? What about them?" demanded Lila.

"I-I lost those tapestries."

"Lost them? What do you mean 'lost them'?"

"I went to the party with them in my bag. I kept my bag somewhere and when I came back. My bag was empty. I don't know who stole it."

Chloe laughed.

"So you're trying to tell us that you don't know where those tapestries are and those people who were supposed to die today are still alive; until and unless the person who stole the tapestries does lord knows what to the tapestries and the life threads? Yes?"

I nod.

"So?"

"So? I am asking for help. I am sorry. But what should I do? I don't know what to do."
