I drew the curtains closed when the defiant sunshine peeked through the window. It ruined my dream. I had a weird dream. It was something about my cute senior guy which made me want it to never end. Although I don't remember what it was about I felt happy and relaxed, which I rarely do in the mornings. I felt groggy but less knackered than always which was a good thing.
My clumsy gait towards the living room got more awkward when I slipped a little and someone laughed. Through 'still-sleepy' and blurry vision, I notice someone sitting with both legs crossed on my couch. "Very funny, Pete," I say with a straight face.
Pete has been our neighbour and my childhood best friend since a very long time. I used to have a crush on him when I was little because of his bad habit of flirting. He is so addicted to flirting that he annoys both of my sisters and always ends up in a row with them. Can't blame them, though. He is irritating but still 'trustworthy' as Lila and Chloe said. He, of all our neighbours and friends, knows our family history. He, in fact, is the only guy I was allowed to hang out with up until recently.
"You already look so beautiful in just a shirt..now, don't turn me on with your sexy raspy morning voice. But I rather have you in my shirt than your own." He smirks when my eyes widen and I run back to my room, squealing. I have a weird habit of just wearing a loose shirt as a night suit and nothing else. I looked at my naked thighs and blushed. Turning on the light of my bedroom, I tried to see whether he could see me naked through my shirt or not. I hope not.
"Nice legs."
I shove him outside and heard him laugh. A stupid grin split on my face when I close the door to my room.
Within a few minutes, I was out again in the living room wearing the most comfortable denim shorts I could come handy with at the moment.
"Do you want Coffee?"
"Yes for Coffee, please." He winked. Chloe entered and a v-shape formed on her forehead as soon as she saw Pete sitting on our couch.
"What are you doing here?"
"Very good morning to you too, and now to answer your question, let me remind you. I go to the same college as Martha's and you told me that we should both go together." He smiles at me and I roll my eyes at him, trying to suppress a smile.
"Oh yeah. I forgot," said Chloe and then, yawned. I handed her a cup of coffee and then passed one to Pete. "Just one request, keep an eye on her and her friends," Chloe added after taking a large gulp of her drink. I busied myself with another cup of coffee for Lila and tried to not make it look obvious that what Chloe just said bothered me. I ignored the intentional gaze Pete was giving me.
"Yeah..er..dodon't..don't worry about that." He replied after a minute.
...
I roamed aimlessly around the corridors of the University Of Manchester, trying to look for Reva. She said she will meet me in the canteen but I don't know where the hell that is. Spencer messaged me this morning that she won't be attending any classes for a week because of some family wedding that she had to run off to. I sighed, trying to ignore my loneliness and pretended to look at something on my mobile.
Something pushed past me and I stumbled a few steps when I heard a familiar voice apologizing. I took a few curly strands of my hair that were blocking my view and tugged them behind my ear. That is when I spotted him. My cute senior. For a moment he seemed to have looked at me but then he turned right away, running to the opposite direction when I was just going to wave at him. My hand was raised midway when someone clapped a high five on them. "Hey, busy bee." Pete smiled and I mentally fought the urge to run away.
